I love the Cupping Room and have been going there on my visits from the UK for almost 30 years. The menu is large with lots of choice and salads a good option. This time, however, I had a sandwich, mozzarella and aubergine which was very tasty. Top tip, if you can sit at a table in the conservatory

We had a great visit with friends. Service here is slow but very friendly. I had the burger. Deliscious!!! Highly recommend! My partner had pancakes and poached eggs and the pancakes were average to boring as the syrup they have are really not tasty at all. So that was disappointing. The ty chai latte was very, very good and we... More

You can't go wrong at the Cupping Room. I feel like I'm always welcomed in with smiles and friendly faces. The menu has a wide variety, and everything I've eaten there is fresh and good. It's not the trendiest but it's the one that feels the most like home. Neighborhood staple that never disappoints!

Bottom Line Solid classics, Benedicts, omelets, French toast (stuffed), crispy bacon, friendly staff, cute crowd. Go and eat. You’re in NYC, so you’re going to spend $17 for eggs anyway, so do it here. Arrived at this SoHo staple to meet up with old work friends for brunch. It’s cozy, but the tables had plenty of space, and never felt... More

Eclectic, boho place, on the Tribeca Broadway border, walked by I was a little hungry and got drawn into the place. Sat at the bar, few beers, a burger, got mingling with the locals! Great food, good beer, really friendly staff. Fun, good music, and the burgers are superb! It's a rough and ready, but great!

Description
The Cupping Room Cafe was established in 1977. It was originally a wholesale coffee establishment. Different blends of coffee were brewed and tasted by perspective customers. This act of blending and tasting different coffees is called cupping - hence the name The Cupping Room. The coffee tasting went so well that the owners decided to change the name from The Coffee Connection to The Cupping Room Cafe. They also decided to open the back of the store and sell coffee and pie to the local artists.

The building hosting The Cupping Room is a landmark building. It was the first "tall" building in SoHo and is more than 100 years old. The high tin ceilings, hard wood floors, pot-belly stove and exposed brick walls are all part of the original setting.

The Cupping Room was a home for artists and locals. Today it is still a neighborhood place where you can see the locals and the famous come together in our homey environment.

Staying in SoHo

Neighbourhood Profile
SoHo
Once the artistic hub of New York City, SoHo (South of Houston) is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway teems with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore by foot. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district –majestic cast-iron architecture everywhere you look. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city. The pretty streets of Nolita (North of Little Italy) offer a more sedate vibe, with plenty of tiny boutiques and hip restaurants to seek out.
