This is a great family-style restaurant it's not for the single person as everything is done family style with big bowls of food for the party to split. It's best to try to make reservations because the wait is usually very long. The chicken Marsalis great so is the chicken Parmesan

First thing is u must starve yourself all day, bc the portions, albeit this is family style, nonetheless the servings are massive!!! Food: The food is prompt and good.. not great but pretty good. The pasta was a bit over cooked. The apps were good. But flavor was nice. Service: Quick and prompt. We could had drank more, however, the... More

Friendly people from front desk to the bar area. I highly recommend the Lasagna. The portion is so large you will have a great left over for lunch the following day.

I will start this review with a disclaimer - although I am not Italian I live in a very Italian community. I was here with a group and to get a restaurant this close to Times Square that can accommodate a group is an amazement in itself! The food was just alright... not the authentic (or so I'm told) Italian... More

I appreciate that this is very much a restaurant for larger groups and not for a couple (as we were). The waiter advised us to only order one dish between us as the portions were so large. This in itself presented a problem as we both wanted different things. I compromised and we ordered lasagne which was very ordinary and... More

We came here as a party of 70 which would be hard to manage for the best of venues, on top of regular clientele. Carmine's delivered fantastic service & delicious food! And without any long waits or delays. Absolutely some of the best Italian I've ever eaten! Definitely recommend when visiting Times Square.

Four of us shared the chicken marsala and penne pasta. Four more people could have ate too. The family style portions are HUGE! Highly recommend!

Carmine's has become a cult restaurant, a must stop for every tourist in the theater district. Why I'm really not sure. Prices are not excessive for huge portions of quite average food.

Excellent place! Matt the server was fantastic! Great suggestions. Food was superb. Huge portions even for lunch. Can't wait to get back to NYC just for this restaurant experience. Just FYI.... Prices look expensive which is typical for NYC but you can easily get meals for two out of each one of these items on the menu. You will not... More

Description
Carmine's is a family style restaurant offering exceptional value to its guests through the many dishes of Southern Italian cuisine. The Carmine's concept is to bring its guests a "wow-factor" sized portions and making any meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast. Platters of homestyle antipasto, pasta, decadent seafood or meat entrees, and of course homemade desserts are all staples at Carmine's, meant for sharing amongst friends and family. When great food and wine are supported by friendly and knowledgeable service, the results are magic - we want every day to feel like a Sunday afternoon at Grandma's.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
