It was 10:30 p.m. on a Tuesday night. A group of us just came out of the Gershwin Theatre. We were hungry and wanted a nice place to eat near Time Square. I searched restaurants near me and this popped up with high ratings. They...More

High energy Italian restaurant right across street from the theatre, it doesn't get any better than that! The food was authentic, plentiful & delicious. Food is served family style. For four ladies we ordered 2 entrees & one order of pasta. We could have easily...More

Carmine's is a traditional Italian restaurant that turns out consistently good dishes in huge family-size portions. Seriously, don't eat here unless you have at least four hearty appetites at the table or means to keep the leftovers (not always possible for travelers). With that caveat,...More

We always make a point to eat family style at Carmines. Even though the wait time is ridiculous and the noise factor is deafening we still love the food. Especially the salads and garlic bread.

The best service EVER. Serving is a way of life, a passion, a career, for the servers here. It is not just a job for those working at Carmine's. In other restaurants, servers talk a lot then ignore you when you pay. Here, the servers...More

It's a staple of Times Square, not bad Italian but not genuine Italian food very commercial like Olive Garden. Decent food, ok service and full of tourists. Why would there be a real Italian restaurant in the most touristy area of NYC? You want real...More

The legendary Carmine's is fun, energetic, family style spot. I don't think the food is outstanding, rather average compared to various other NYC Italian restaurants. What sets Carmine's apart are warrants 4 Stars is the unique experience. Menus only on the wall, family style portions,...More

Description
Carmine's is a family style restaurant offering exceptional value to its guests through the many dishes of Southern Italian cuisine. The Carmine's concept is to bring its guests a "wow-factor" sized portions and making any meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast. Platters of homestyle antipasto, pasta, decadent seafood or meat entrees, and of course homemade desserts are all staples at Carmine's, meant for sharing amongst friends and family. When great food and wine are supported by friendly and knowledgeable service, the results are magic - we want every day to feel like a Sunday afternoon at Grandma's.
