On the Ides of March my husband and I returned to the scene of the crime. We were married at the Water Club years before Hurricane Sandy did her worst and the restaurant had to close. Needless to say, we were thrilled when the Water Club reopened and decided it was where we wanted to celebrate again 30 years later.... More

My daughter was in New York for St Patrick's Weekend with her partner celebrating her birthday. My sister and I wanted her to celebrate the event in a special way. I live in Ireland and with the help of Debbie Ulloa we were able to make the celebration a special one. This is my daughter's email to us after the... More

We had anniversary reservation at the water club based on a recommendation. Made the reservation a month prior and asked for a water view table. When we arrived the restaurant we were shown to the dining room and put at a back table. Since most of the water view tables we asked to be moved. We were told all tables... More

It's been a number of years since I have been to The Water Club, and it will be a long time before I return. The restaurant is still beautiful and the service is great -- friendly and attentive. The problem is the food -- it's totally gone downhill. The fried calamari was weirdly oversalted (which I have never before encountered).... More

Amazing food and service. If you love sea food this place is a must! The oysters are top quality and lobster was the best I have tasted. Great setting for an anniversary Meal.

Had a brunch reunion with old friends. The Water Club is just lovely. It has a wonderful view (right on the East River), great service, delicious food, and free parking. The restaurant was decorated for the holidays including multiple holiday trees and train sets under the trees in the lobby. It was a beautiful day so we had a great... More

The food here was really good, although for my personal taste it lacked only slightly in flavour. The meat we ordered were cooked perfectly, but just lacked a touch of seasoning considering the price. The wine was very nice, we had the cheapest Merlot, which we didn't expect to have much flavour, however it surprised us. The service was mostly... More

We went here for brunch. It is a nice place with a lovely view but I found it a bit old fashioned for my taste (in decor and food style). Food though was good and service was helpful and friendly. Worth a try if you prefer a more traditional style.

Beautiful place to have drinks and dinner. We started the night at the rooftop bar, The Crows Nest and watched the sunset over margaritas. We went downstairs for dinner. Great views of the East River while dining. The mater d, Dan Sweeney, was very friendly and attentive. The food, however, was disappointing. I guess you don't come here for the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
