After the theatre we stopped by for dinner at Smiths and we wished we kept walking to find another venue. The service was very slow and the staff were too busy setting up the restaurant for the next day rather than serving guests. We had to call them over numerous times to order drinks and food. My partner ordered chicken... More

We stayed at the hotel opposite so decided to eat here before seeing a show. Waitress could not be more helpful, lovely laid back atmosphere and service was good and quick. Food was delicious, highly recommend the Shrimp Linguine Alfredo, one of the best pasta dishes I have ever tried, huge portions so be warned! Will definitely visit again next... More

So, I've never been inclined to write an online review, good or bad. However, this experience was the single most offensive bar/restaurant experience I've ever had. I'm in town for the weekend from upstate, visiting my GF. She and her best friend want to meet at a bar nr her apartment in Hells Kitchen/Times Sq area. I foolishly pick the... More

I absolutely love this bar, it was right opposite our hotel and so welcoming. The beers are always ice cold and the food quality is top notch. I am told that John Lennon used to frequent this bar. I would recommend a visit to all who are in NYC . We shall be back this August can't wait!

We can choose from a nice variety of beers and try them before ordering if you wish so! Ordered NY steak ... "out of stock according to the computer" I was told. Burger was ok, nothing more. Service was really bad. Looks like staff members prefer to chat between themselves than caring of customers ... very bad impression. Not recommended;... More

A really outstanding Marsala. The mash potatoes were also excellent. Wide beer, wine, and liquor selection and plenty of seating. Good looking bartenders.

Staying directly opposite Smith's Bar so as a Smith I had to give it a try. Was very busy, good range of beers, tireless waitress (who kept on smiling despite rushing around). Decided to order Nachos and a burger, not exceptional but very decent. Couldn't even count the sports we could watch while there but was at least Tennis, 2... More

Stopped in for a drink before going to Drunk Shakespeare (don't judge). It took forever to get a drink, while standing at the bar which was full but not crowded. It wasn't as if the bartender was busy going from person to person, it was sort of inexplicable.

We went in for burgers and beer and weren't disappointed. The burgers were very tasty and huge, and not as expensive as the ones in the restaurants nearer Time Square. Imported drinks were quite expensive though (as expected). Good friendly service and food arrived quickly.

We had Pilsner Urquel and red wine. This Czeck beer is one of the best in the world. The house red wine was good. Prices as can be expected around Times Square

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
