I met an Old friend at this really engaging restaurant in the Village. The place had a warm and inviting atmosphere and we sat at the bar for dinner. We shared a delicious and huge salad then had two pizzas, both of which were delicious. Crust was thin and crispy and toppings were fresh and perfectly matched. Just an enjoyable... More

Went there on a November Friday night with three others - place was packed with a good vibe. The reasons for the "poor" rating of OTTO are the food and service quality. On the food side, the ordered salami tasted stale and very dry, so after two initial nibbles everyone left the salami untouched. The two tomato-sauce-based pizzas were very... More

I can't say enough about the food - it's truly a delight to the senses. The funghi and Taleggio cheese pizza is a must, and the prosciutto and pecorino were outstanding. The cauliflower a la siciliana appetizer was delicious, but the absolutely fantastic dish was the olive oil ice cream! The service and atmosphere were also exceptional as was the... More

I've mostly ordered the pizzas here and they are all excellent. I had the truffle spaghetti on my most recent visit and that too was fantastic. Good bar and affordable wine list.

I love this restaurant of Mario Batali's. You can order small plates to share of all sorts of interesting dishes including pizza and pasta. I particularity liked the fennel, walnut and Apple salad, the cured meal platter, the Brussels sprouts etc. etc. This is real Italian food at its best. I felt I was back in Italy. The wine list is... On the plus side: our server was very attentive and our pizzas came surprisingly quickly. On the minus side: the restaurant refused to seat the two of us until our third had joined us despite countless empty tables, the thin crust pizza was tough and overcooked (burnt on one edge), it was an extremely loud and carnival-like atmosphere. This is... More

Had dinner here on a Wednesday evening, we are glad we booked a table as it was busy. The atmosphere was great. The service was very helpful. We had two delicious pasta dishes, one was fusilli con sausage, we also had the pizza marina, plan tomato pizza with no cheese, it was delicious and we had it with our pasta... More

We ate here in mid-October. We both had pasta dishes - the goat bolognese and the 4 meat pasta. Both were tasty and it was good that some-one was using goat meat which is greatly undervalued. The restaurant was busy with a good atmosphere and the service was ok. The wine list is huge, but the valpolicella that we had... More

This was the chosen location to my wife, myself two daughters to meet some of their NYC friends. One of the NYC locals ordered a variety of her favorites from the menu and we all approved. Not disappointed in food or variety of wines and beer. Definitely a lively spot and not for a quiet evening of conversation. For NYC... More

The good news: nice looking place with a fabulous wine list. Otherwise, not so good. And the problem seems to be Mario Batali. Our table was subjected to perhaps the most inept waitstaff encountered in an Italian place. Orders were repeatedly screwed up and requests to customize simple dishes (like salad!) were met with "that's against Mario Batali's rules". Even... More
