Arrived 50 mins before advertised closing time, greeted by a miserable host, so double checked we could still eat, he said yes. Awful service from the 'Head Waiter' in the suit; throwing cutlery down, grunting his way through taking our order. 2/3 starters arrived, and...More

Everything about this restaurant is Chinese: chairs, walls, art, costumes, etc. Which is to say, that it is rather bland. So is the food. I'm sure there are much better Chinese restaurants in the city, in the neighborhood. Very average.

Great location, reasonable prices and attractive ambience don't offset awful food. This was a favorite restaurant, but a recent visit was a great disappointment. Food was clearly pre-cooked and rewarmed- orange-shrimp were caked with a paste that was awful; tofu dish black mushrooms were plentiful,...More

Lovely upscale midtown Chinese. If you are going for linen table clothes and "restaurant" feel (vs take out) this is a nice choice. Food came fast, clean, tasty. Choices for vegetarians. Portion size ok. The staff does not have great English - so be prepared...More

Having lived in Northern Virginia for many years, we considered Peking Gourmet Inn in Alexandria, VA, the standard by which Chinese restaurants should be judged. Now that we live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, we wish we had access to good Chinese food. A...More

Worst experience in a restaurant ever, kitchen staff sounded as if they were murdering each other whilst we were trying to have a relaxing meal with our two children, the staff and management were very unapologetic and did not appear to understand our concern whatsoever,...More

The service is brusque and efficient, the décor is plain, but Tang Pavilion scores high on food. The extensive menu features all the Chinese classics, plus a number of Shanghai specialties. We particularly enjoyed the whole steamed fish and the gluten puffs. The night we...More

Went to dinner with 8 colleagues from work. Some of us were very familiar with Chinese dishes, others not so much. We only ordered three appetizers, and everyone got entrees. Thankfully we did share a little bit. The dishes all tasted fantastic, and were surprisingly...More
