The Lexington Avenue Grill is located inside the Doubletree Metropolitan hotel. Like the hotel, this is a high volume, average eatery with busy, hurried and spotty service. The food is OK, especially for the prices charged in the middle of Manhattan. It is convenient, but don't expect much from the food, the ambiance or the service.

I was born and raised in the US, by a Swedish mother with many, many trips to Sweden growing up and to today. Let's just say, I've eaten my fair share of Swedish meatballs, and then some, because in general they are so good (IKEA being a notable exception). We all know that everyone's meatball recipe is a little different,... More

Great food and service. Hard to beat for the price in NY. Not fancy, but top notch. Looks like the locals stop here for breakfast.

Life is too short to endure poor service and food. Having been clear with our waitress that we did not want any pork, we were served ham with our eggs. Worse, even, than a misunderstanding over whether "pork" included "ham," was that we were served toast with a butter packet that had already been opened and used. The attitude of... More

Had a couple of visits here and the staff were very welcoming and helpful, even fun sometimes! The food was pretty good, more than enough of it, as portions were very large and great value for money with good service.

Came here with some colleagues after a looong day, and it was a good antidote. We had a great table (corner right as you enter) and the food was excellent - especially the truffle fries, highly recommended! It is not a cheap option, but has a nice, relaxed vibe, a strong menu and an excellent sauvingnon blanc on the wine... More

Doesn't feel like its a Marriott restaurant. The food and service were excellent. The prices were very high especially for the wine by the glass $12 was the cheapest. Loved the food but not sure I would return at those prices.

this would be a terrific place if you are on an expense account and entertaining for business. food is good+, as is the atmosphere for a one-on-one or small table conversation. IF this is not what you're looking for, then it is clearly overpriced and there are better values (not necessarily price-based) elsewhere in the neighbourhood.

This was recommended by our hotel but unfortunately was a great disappointment, although it was busy so obviously pretty popular- maybe we got a bad night. It started badly with terrible service and a 25 min wait for our drinks, despite several reminders. The food itself was the usual enormous portions but really over seasoned, so the predominant flavour was... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
