My family was staying nearby and one of our favorites is Japanese food, so of coarse, we had to stop in. Very tiny, but cozy. The service is fast and friendly and the food is fresh and delicious. Best part is that it wasn't as overpriced as other Japanese restaurants we had seen. You felt like you were in your... More

This place has been here for 20yrs!!! My wife first visited 10 years ago and brought me here for the first time last week. Great sushi, amazing prices. Saki too was good and not expensive. Can't wait to go back! Tuna was fresh, Cali roll was tasty too. Nothing was overly sauced. True gem in the west village.

I was craving some sushi. I found this location close to where I was at and I was surprised !! Small place yet the waitstaff ensured I had everything to make a lovely meal . Miso soup with seaweed salad and then California roll and Manhattan Roll. I will be back!!

Love the location, across the street from White Horse Tavern a grat meeting place before we go to a very friendly local sushi place. Staff remembers your usual and accommodates your seating needs.

Love this place! the Kani said has me hooked! I always get their Kani salad for starters then a few of their special rolls. You need the green tea to wash it all down otherwise you are at risk of a food coma.

The seaweed on my eel rolls was chewy and the atmosphere was a little derry. Not going back for a long while. Oh their staff was kind though I'll give them that

I have been going here for over three years at least once a month. Sushi chef and waitress staff are very friendly, accommodating, they remember the clientele, prices are reasonable. Very relaxing, never rushed.

Good ingredients and quality sushi in a simple place, nice list of sake, not for a romantic evening, good value.

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
