Spotted this place on my way to the hotel and thought it looked interesting. Great food in a classical way, on the expensive side, but it was NYC.

This is a classic. They offer a nice bar while you wait for your table. Then you get very good quality meat and nice service. In our case they overcooked a bit the steaks so be careful when choosing how to order the meat

Ok so S&W is a NYC institution and deservedly so. Lots of groups treat it as an iconic place to visit as a last night in NY. It's a classic steak house menu well executed.. Think chewy sourdough, Raw bar and prawns etc, great steaks...More

In every American city where there is an Oceanaire or Smith & Wollensky, we make a point of having a meal, and recently in NYC we had lunch at the S & W Grill. The ordinary lunch fare of clamchowder and caesar salad with grilled...More

Very disappointed in our recent visit. Whilst food was good it was nothing special for the price. We ordered 2 steaks as we had read the reviews on tripadvisor but they were decidedly average in size and taste. I will not return as prices too...More

One of America's most successful restaurants, this New York steakhouse opened in 1977 and has been a hit ever since.

It is one of the most trafficked restaurants in New York City and among the most celebrated steakhouses in the world. Specializing in fresh seafood and lobster and assorted steaks and chops, Smith & Wollensky is well recognized for its healthy portions, seasoned service staff and pop Americana ambience.

The painted wood exterior is dark forest green trim on sparkling white, with latticework trim. The elegant interior has turn-of-the-century appeal and design elements including shining brass, dark wood accents and polished wood floors.

Adjacent to Smith & Wollensky's is Wollensky's Grill. The Grill (entrance on 49th St) is open from 11:30AM till 2:00AM but does not accept reservations.
