I'd always heard what a fabulous place this is (correction: WAS). Mid afternoon on a Mon, barely no one there. Duck salad was questionable in its freshness. Terrible smell as you walk in from the street. Perhaps not what it once was.

I have wanted to visit since watching Tootsie and the great food and excellent service didn't disappoint. The grilled chicken cobb salad and chocolate mousse cake were both excellent. They also have a gift shop selling Russian-themed souvenirs.

What an experience. Opulent surroundings lovely staff. Food was wonderful. We wanted to see the glass bear on the 1st floor. It was closed as they were preparing for an event. No problem private tour organised! Really enjoyed our time spent at the Russian tearoom.
