Visited as a tourist in the city and wanted to try something different. Seated on time; hostess wasn't particularly welcoming. Impressed with our waiter Ninja C, who seemed more enthusiastic than many of the other servers which improved our experience. Food mediocre. Paid about $100 for average food and no alcohol. Experience was something a little different but at the... More

After hearing glowing reviews from a friend, we decided to check out Ninja on our own - two adults and two kids ages 7 and 9. Be prepared to be frequently startled : ) but the service was very friendly including little gifts for the kids as soon as we sat down. As pricy as they are, I recommend getting... More

After reading the good and bad reviews we figured this was worth a try. Entering the restaurant was fun but the fun quickly died down. Our service was very sweet but we were here to be entertained. I got the vibe that they were just too busy to do the entertainment part. The owners may want to add some help... More

I'm not a theme restaurant type person; still have never been to a hard rock cafe. But i read the reviews of this place and thought I would give it a try with my 8 year old son. He LOVED it. And while I didn't have high expectations for the food, it was really good sushi too. There were magic... More

I was looking for something fun in the city that might appeal to my teenage son. Another boon, they take reservations whereas many of the theater district "fun" theme places do not. Fun we had-- it's silly and not meant to be taken very seriously. If fake ninja's jumping out at you and "stabbing" you with plastic knives will make... More

After doing research on Trip Advisor, I decided to go ahead and take the kids to Ninga. You go to New York for the experience... I was aware of the cost. I was aware of the tip for the magician. I was aware of the poor quality of food.... but I made a conscious decision to go anyway. The kids... More

Ninja was a fun way to end the day in New York City. My husband and I like to try new places, so we were intrigued when we found out about this restaurant. The waitstaff are dressed as ninjas, and some of the dishes come with a "ninja presentation." We both had steak, which was delicious and came with the... More

Original concept restaurant with good food. Going into the dungeons was cool and then the signature dishes were originally presented being quite good. The waiters all dressed as Ninjas were always entertaining with their NInja acts and the Magic Ninja was impressive with our child. Great place to try at least once and celebrate a birthday or bachelors party.Service was... More

Ok, look....it's a theme restaurant so don't go into it looking for a fine dining experience that sends your taste buds into orbit. I wanted to take my kids, ages 8, 5 and 2, somewhere fun and different and Ninja hit the spot. Upon arrival, we were escorted onto an elevator where a Ninja "greeted" us when the door opened.... In short, Don't waste your time or money. My wife and I are from Connecticut, so when we go to NYC to visit, we do our fair diligence in researching places that are fun for our 2 sons. They are 11 and 9, so they enjoy a show/good time and a good meal. Well 1 out of 2 isn't bad,... More

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighbourhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.
