Restaurant week menus are often a choice of only a few items. The restaurant menu here was a pleasant surprise with a variety of choices. The portions were generous and the food was delicious. The price during restaurant week was excellent.

Staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, the Empire Steakhouse was our first choice for breakfast. The interior is very cozy, the ambiance is relaxing, the seating is comfortable with decent spacing in-between the tables. The breakfast is served as both buffet and a la carte. The buffet breakfast is priced very reasonably, $22 per person. We opted for a la... More

Food was first rate, but when the steaks came one was as ordered, the other (medium) was very well done. They organised another, but one of us ate while the other waited. Cheese cake was much better than the tiramisu. Lots of wines on the list, we took the Merlot from Sonoma, about the cheapest, and it was excelent.

My wife and I got a Filet Mignon and a Lobster and shared them. The food was wonderful. They served the steak with peppercorn sauce on the side. The sides are large enough to share with a few people. We had the broccoli and onion rings and the two of us couldn't finish them both. Ordered a key lime pie... More

Most hotel restaurants often slack in service and food as they have a built in audience being attached to a property but in NYC you don't get that option due to the sheer number of alternatives people have just walking out their lobby front door. This location understands that and while they offer the breakfast mainly for the hotel guests... More

This restaurant is connected to the hotel we stayed at. We were given breakfast vouchers for the four days we stayed. The restaurant is open to the public, and has an entrance from the street, and from inside the hotel lobby. We didn't have the opportunity to have dinner or lunch, but we heard from others staying at the hotel... More

We had a group dinner for 10 people for business at Empire Steak House and overall it was very good. Appitizers and main courses were all very good. Steaks are their specialty and excellent. Very good wine list and our service was professional, friendly and prompt. Nice atmosphere. Our table was a bit cramped for 10 people but I think... More

We had dinner here. Ordered the "porterhouse steak for two" which we shared with our daughter. It was huge so it was enough for the three of us and it was delicious! As side dishes had a mixed greens salad and fries. The bottle of red wine from Nappa Valley (I don't remember the name) was great too. For dessert... More

We had breakfast and lunch at the Empire... all were very good. Service is outstanding! For lunch we had the Empire burger and salmon. My wife said the salmon was nicely prepared and fresh. The burger was HUGE! Nicely aged beef... bring your appetite-- you will likely skip dinner!

While we did not eat dinner at this restaurant we did enjoy breakfast twice and a "night cap" twice (we stayed in the adjoining hotel) - and a New York Cheesecake. The food was excellent, the service exceptional, the attention to detail above expectations.

Description
Empire Steak House, conveniently located at 237 west 54 street near Broadway, showcases modern decor in a classy, but trendy atmosphere. The all-white marble bar and sprawling dining room provide an additional air of sophistication. While Empire's steaks are acclaimed for its famous dry-aged porterhouse for two, the rest of the vast menu is equally stellar, featuring a wide range of fresh seafood such as 4-to 5-lb lobsters, Chilean Sea Bass, Salmon, Yellow Fin Tuna, towering seafood platters, and much more. The eatery offers a highly selective wine list and features many of California's most sought after vintages. The Zagat rated restaurant is owned and operated by the Sinanaj family. The Sinanaj's success dates back to their first restaurant opening of Empire Steak House in 2010. The space is 4,500 square feet and can accommodate 230 guests for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, private rooms available!

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
