probably one of my favorite restaurant in NYC. It's tiny so you might need to wait a bit for a table but the food is absolutely amazing!!! They serve great cocktails too. The lamb salad and the noodles are so yummm I would really recommend them. Be careful most of the food is a bit spicy 😍

Uncle Boons was a treat. The food was a true authentic Thai experience a real relief from the common, bogus Thai cuisine that is to often encountered. The ambiance was wonderful and really put you into Thailand, the front door is basically a portal out of NYC. Will be returning soon to enjoy the authenticity of Thailands beautiful cuisine.

The sweetbread dish (Mee Krob) was superb. What's amazing about this dish is that all of the individual flavors and textures blend together well but are also distinguishable: sweet, salty, pungent, crispy, smooth/creamy (sweetbreads). It's truly a hole in one. This dish alone would be sufficient to give Uncle Boon's five stars. The garlic and soy marinated frog's legs were... More

Uncle boons is local to us, We've been a few times and it seems to be getting better! It's a busy place, a little on the pricey side. They don't take reservations and the wait is usually around 45 mins +, luckily there are a bunch of bar options in the hood to keep you busy while you wait for... More

Thai food is my favorite cuisine and I eat it a lot. I even was lucky enough to enjoy it for 2 weeks in Thailand. But Uncle Boon's was a whole different level and each dish was amazing! Apparently these are old family recipes and unlike any I'd had before. Delicate combinations of flavors, beautifully presented in a cool, funky... More

My 5 girlfriends had a wonderful experience at Uncle Boon's last night. The 6 of us were advised by the waitress to do some large plates and some small to share. We ended up doing both large curry plates (to die for, meat melts in your mouth) and the crab fried rice. YUM. We had a salad and the riblets... More

Crisp is the theme of the place. From martial art posters in the bathroom to the flavours of the dishes, including the choice of the music in between. The service is excellent. The flavours are...Crisp and satisfying. Overall a great dine out. Recommended.

I have attempted to go to Uncle Boons on two prior occasions but the wait was always too long. This time around, on a weeknight, our party of three was willing to stick it out and we're glad we did. To pass the time, we went across the street to Vig Bar, grabbed some drinks and within forty five minutes,... More

Uncle Boon's Thai food was fantastic and service was equally as good! Lively atmosphere and fun to be there. Get there early or have reservations.

We were surprised to get a table as soon as we walked into the restaurant at 8 pm on Saturday evening. Service is fast and friendly. The atmosphere is cozy; we struck up a conversation with our neighbors and shared some food with them. Except for us, the crowd was all in their 20s and 30s. Portions are large; we... More

Staying in Nolita

Neighbourhood Profile
Nolita
Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for “North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighbourhood is popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry, Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping, there are cozy restaurants and sidewalk cafes serving everything from new-school Italian food to the world-famous cronuts. While small in size (Nolita stretches just a few blocks in each direction), it’s a great neighbourhood to spend an afternoon people watching, window-shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat.
