My sister and I have spent our christmas dinner at this place. The food was nice and not too expensive, so it was exactly what we've been looking for. There was life music and people were cheerful. The stuff was friendly although there has been a misunderstanding with our waiter. We thought that there'd be no sides with the dishes... More

Try Guantanamera for a fun Friday or Saturday night. The talented Cuban musicians that play will make you want to get up and dance. The Cuban food and signature mojitos are quite good.

This is a great restaurant to go to if attending theatre or a concert at Lincoln Center. Such warm and welcoming service! Love their half chicken in Cuban (heavily garlic) sauce, but the last two times I ordered it, it was roasted. This time, pan seared, and way too heavily breaded and much more caloric!. Did not like nearly as... More

Let me preface this review by saying if I was writing it six months ago I would have given it five stars. We were in NYC for the weekend and found Guantanamera through a review in NY Magazine. The food was delicious, the service was attentive and the restaurant is a lot of fun (I recommend the sangria!). We were... More

For me the chicken soup. A chunk of chicken on the bone in a soup I would be proud to make, plus a slice of avocado. The chicken must just have been lightly poached in the soup. It was tender, not stringy or tough. Then a salad with a plethora of the freshest avocado. Husband had calendar in a garlic... More

Enjoyed their Mojitos and cubanos -- app was calamari. Very sweet waiter, good service. Nice prices. Seems to be a popular spot for New Yorkers ! Easy location for a show at Studio 54.

This is the second time we have had the pleasure of dining at this fun restaurant. When our boys were small we took them here and it became a legend in their minds. Upon returning as teens this April it did not disappoint :) We enjoyed the Jambon Croquettes, several Cuban Sandwiches, Empenadas, Paella, Mojitos and Live Music! The atmosphere... More

Everything we had was authentic and well prepared. The ceviche and grilled calamari appetizers were excellent as were the house named chicken dish and seafood paella. While the dessert selections were not to our tastes they too were authentic. The extensive list of after dinner rums was a treat with great recommendations from our server. The evening was topped of... More

Been here several times and always enjoyed their food and live music. The table service is hit or miss. I find that I get the best service when I sit at the bar.

We are the coconut chicken, paellas, margarita and ceviche with plantain chips, all were delicious. The paella had a generous portion of seafood. Service was attentive and speedy, food was served piping hot and we had a great experience overall. Decor and rest rooms were a bit out dated but very clean.

Thank Melissa B

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
