We travel to New York frequently and I have been excited about trying this restaurant. It was not easy to get reservations but well worth the wait. There were five of us at what was the largest table in this tiny gem. No one was disappointed. We enjoyed excellent appetizers, awesome entrees and delicious desserts. The wine list was amazing.... The restaurant is tight and cramped but only adds to the unique charm of this beautiful place. The menu is first class and the champagne is very well priced. Order early if you're visiting as it fills up quick and often in a waiting list! My favourite place to eat in the world and I've travelled!!

Wonderful. That's all. Just wonderful. The service was warm, caring, professional, and friendly. The wine list is outstanding - we chose mid-priced red and white wines, and loved them both. I'm sure the more expensive wines are to die for! The Lobster/Poblano soup had a perfect balance - very flavorful, and with a little heat, but not too much to... More

I'm speaking as a local new yorker from Downtown West side when I write this, Little Owl is one of the best brunch spots in Manhattan. We always get great service, I tend to order the same dishes over and over and they never fail or taste differently. It's a small and cool place, I recommend it to everyone visiting... More

This is a great local spot in the West Village and it is underneath the building that "Friends' used to live in. You will see loads of people on the corner taking snaps. The brunch menu is great - delicious eggs, french toast, juices, coffee and the service is great. If you want to brunch like a local - this... More

The Owl is a wonderful, bustling little eatery in a quiet corner of the Village. Came here for brunch on Christmas Day and smashed organic poached eggs, sausage and spinach and a meatball slider, and fries. And Bellinis. What the hell it was Christmas. Really nice atmosphere, good staff and the food was proper lush. Would go back in an... More

Great food - big selection of seafood and fish (which was a great thing for me!) and all very tasty. Made from fresh ingredients. Service was great and friendly. We were lucky to get a spot on New Year's Eve at the last minute. Great little restaurant with a very cozy atmosphere. Prix-fixe menu, so not cheap, but worth the... More

The Little Owl is a charming, remarkable find in Greenwich Village. The gravy meatball sliders are superb, and I had been craving them since our visit here a year ago. The halibut, salmon, and blistered green beans are some of the best I have ever had. The service was impeccable, and we had a wonderful evening. I highly recommend a... More

Tiny restaurant with excellent food in an enchanted area worth getting lost in. The outside of the building served as "Central Perk" in Friends but the inside is a delightful restaurant with a limited menu and intimate ambiance. Met a friend for a light lunch. She and I shared a beet, pepita and butter lettuce salad which was delicious. She... More

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
