We were in NYC for the weekend and stopped by this restaurant and sat outside. We had $4 Sangrias and the $10 hamburgers. The service was good, but the food was great. Would highly recommend for happy hour.

Found this spot on the Michelin guide, very glad we were able to dine at short notice. The appetizers were definitely the highlight. We ordered the charcuterie (for one - the menu suggests that it is charged per person but you can order a single...More

After looking at a few other spots in the area, this was the only place that had space at the bar for a group of friends to get drinks. I'm not sure why it was the only place that wasn't overly crowded because it was...More

We arrived for a long weekend in New York relatively late on a Friday evening. At the recommendation of our hotel's concierge, we headed for a late meal (11pm reservation) at the restaurant in the Nomad hotel. We arrived and were pleased to find a...More

In the mood for couscous and we have been here before. The food is very good but the portions are not huge. If you want an extra bowl of couscous, be prepared to pay. Knowing how inexpensive this grain is, it is highway robbery when...More

This is a great little restaurant on 2nd Avenue's restaurant row. Good selection of meat dishes and the vegetarian falafel sandwich is very good. Full bar, good service and both indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend.

The good food, lovely decor and excellent MUSIC will transport you to North Africa: Casablanca in the East Village. Though, I think the owners are Algerian. When I asked after a particularly wonderful piece of music the waiter said it was Algerian. The food is...More

A nice little slice of North Africa on 2nd Avenue. The menu has been anglicized a bit for a New York crowd (I did not see fried calamari in Marrakech), but the traditional dishes have the spice balance I miss from Morocco...even with ingredients I...More

This restaurant tastes better than it looks, we had a delicious beet salad to start and an avocado one, you couldn't tell which was better because they were both excellent, fresh and utterly delicious. Additionally the terrace on the street is a great setting for...More

There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village,
which offers plenty of unique small businesses
catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college
students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the
old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still
experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned
shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of
the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to
