Went to this bakery to taste the famous cheesecakes and tried two different types and both were delicious. This is a place any traveller should not miss when visit the lower Manhattan.

Don't miss this spot if you are fan of cheesecake. Under $5 gets you a personal cheesecake which will melt in your mouth. The salted caramel is my favorite but all flavors lead to pure bliss for your taste buds here!

Great cheesecake, worth the wait. The wait can be long and lengthy though. Still cake felt really good.

We tried the chocolate bourbon and the amoretto cheesecakes. They were equally delicious! So light and airy with great, rich flavor and yummy crust on both. Glad we found this little gem. Service was great as well.

Came here for a treat after walking for hours in the city. Wonderful treat. We had the pineapple, amaretto and coconut individual cheesecakes and they were all brilliant. Very light and fluffy. Great flavours. Would definitely recommend

I had cheesecake here some 10 years ago during a previous visit in New York, and I couldn't get it out of my mind. So it was unthinkable to leave NYC without a visit to my favorite cheesecake store. And I wasn't disappointed. The best...More

It's pretty clear one bite in why this place has won so many awards. It was easily the best cheesecake I've ever eaten in my entire life. We tried traditional plain and cookies and cream, and both were heavenly. This is an absolute must when...More

This place does live up to all the fuss. This was truly the best cheesecake ever. What was also notable that they don't seem to rest on their laurels: the service was friendly and courteous; they even distribute the menus through the never ending line...More

We were recommended not to miss this on our trip to New York, and oh it was the most delicious cheesecake I've ever had. We even made it back again to buy a whole one to take to friends.

Funny how the Q&A invite-to-answer system works. I got the sugar free one but not this. The answer here is much simpler: Yes. But melumar already told you that. ;)

I stand to be corrected but I don't think they do on their regular menu. I have very little doubt they'd make you one, though, as a special order. Either way, if you don't get a clear answer here (and even if you do), I'd... More

Eileen's Special Cheesecake opened for business in December, 1975, and arrived in lower Manhattan on December 4, 1976. It was a "ghost town" when I first arrived, but that didn't bother me because the rent was low and I desperately needed a place to bake for my growing wholesale business. I hadn't considered the retail aspects of the business until people started knocking on the door of the bakery wanting to buy cheesecake. With that encouragement, I purchased a bakery case and began to conduct retail business. Soon after our cheesecake attracted the press and we were listed in "Best Bites" in New York Magazine. Radio station WOR rated us "Number One Cheesecake" and we appeared on television quite often whipping up batters of cheesecake. Time passed, and now Cleveland Place is in a popular area where the mix of people and restaurants and shops are so unique. Downtown is becoming the "place to be", and we are actually on most maps now. We survived difficult times, and now "let the good times roll"!
