We had dinner at the bar section, and it was just wonderful.
The main restaurant does a tasting menu, while at the bar they have a hand written a la carte menu that changes every day. The menu is not that big, but plenty of fantastic dishes to choose from. The famous Ko egg was great, and we also really enjoyed the mini burger, hake rice and a lamb dish.
When the sommelier figured out we know our wines, she brought us immediately the full wine list from the main restaurant, took a lot of time to walk us through some of the options, and we ended up with a fantastic rare bottle from 1976.
We can't wait to go back here.

I like the small size of the restaurant. There is only place for 16-20 people and that makes all the difference. Many restaurants in New York are enormous, and therefore lack a personal touch. Here no,no.
While eating around the kitchen, you just stay amazed by the hustle by the chefs, beautiful to see.
Dishes were alle exquisite and fine. Wine pairing is fenomenal (one point of critique: for the price paid, i would have loved to get a little bit more wine, and not a minimal taster).
Certainly a place to revisit (if i can get in ;-))

Beautiful space, outrageously great food, superb service with attention to every detail. If you don’t do the pairings, you are missing out. Each wine highlights the course and brings to the forefront some characteristics you you might otherwise not notice. Special thanks the Nikita and team for unusual wines you might not otherwise get a chance to experience!

Overall we had an average experience. Maybe we had heard so much and were expecting much more.
We had the dumplings that were ok but nothing special. We had their signature Ko Egg that was just an overpriced dish with no special taste. We had their other signature dish, the cold fried chicken that was a sweet cold fried chicken, with nothing special about it except for the fact that it was cold.
On the good side now, the agnolotti was really good, same thing for the lobster tail and the chicken fried steak was a good one as well. Their burger was amazing!
The atmosphere is nice and warm and the personnel is really friendly and helpful.
Generally we have mixed feelings for this one, as half of the dishes were great and half below average.

It is a joke. Cold fried chicken. I expected something interestingly special from this two starred Michelin restaurant given the title of the dish obviously bad and did not make sense. Without any surprise, the cold fried chicken has nothing special. Worse than any of my home chicken left overnight in fridge after cooking. Scallop not fresh and slimy. Bad texture. Bad combination with yolk sauce. Lobster tempura rice is acceptable, not amazing, no surprise. But the rice is nice. In summary the best is the rice. Nothing else. Same as other high end trendy looking restaurants, wines are all not known, cheap at cost but prices with multiple x3-4 times margin at least.
Definitely will it come back. Save your money to other much much better restaurant such as wildair nearby

Biggest let down ever!!! 2 Michelin star , but everything was a huge disappointment, from the wine to the food!! The duck was perhaps the only dish worthy of note. The 45 days aged beef paired cheese souffle did not paired well, don't get me started on the scallops...it was drawned in some kimchi essence, over powered by the shiitake mushrooms, salt and sour!! The raw fish was something random - like a fish salad in mayo with small bits of flying fish roe, the king fish carpaccio is ordinary.
Not sure if Michelin star provides a good guide to great food as Kochi with one Michelin star more than justified!!

The food was fine, but nothing more…
To be honest, I expected a lot more from a two star michelin restaurant. Everything was good and fine, but nothing you haven’t tried before. After each dish, you have a feeling of “the next one will impress”, and you never got to a point where you had the feeling of something exciting.
The service was good, and all the staff were nice, but i would expect the food to be a lot more exciting.
I don’t think the food is worth the money, at all. And I’ve had a better experience in NYC for half the money elsewhere.
I would not recommend a trip here..

I came here alone and had been hearing about the greatness that is David Chang and Momofuku Ko, so had to see for myself. I love the concept of being at a counter while watching the team prepare meals and interact with the diners, especially as for a solo diner. I was excited to start the meal and taste what was been deemed as ground-breaking. Honestly, the best thing for me was updating my iTunes playlist. About halfway through, I was so bored and uninspired, that I just wanted it to be over so I could go back to my hotel. Not to say that the food was bad, but there wasn't a single dish that blew me away (all I remember on my Uber ride back was that I couldn't remember anything that I ate). This style of prep and cuisine is a dime a dozen now at this level...I wish I had taken the same money, maybe even added a bit more and explored elsewhere. My time was wasted but the mystery is over and I can confidently say that I won't be back here again. More importantly, I don't recommend it at all.

Excited to try the 5 course tasting meal. Each course was beautiful in its simplicity and flavors. However, the beverage progression paired with the courses was the star for us. Ambience is sleek, but warm. A little surprised that the music (disco inferno) was quite incongruent with the environment. But it's Covid, right? The descriptions with each course were appreciated and allowed us to savor the experience. Indoor dining seating very limited. Heated patio is a bit larger. Tasting meal was $110. Bev prog was $80. Service included. Attire seemed to be varied.

Have tried and failed to get into this restaurants many times but this time I was solo and got in 8.30 prime time Saturday.
It’s mostly a counter service which was perfect. A well put together menu as you would expect for a M2*.
Good interaction with staff.
So it’s a10 course tasting menu.
Highlights for me the onion soufflé with cured 45 day strip loin was exceptional.
As a further example of innovation and excellence the first dessert course involved Frois Gras. Yes!
So the only real reason to dock it a point is price.
It’s in the Core London territory which has 3*. Is it as good. Nope.
Other than that. Outstanding.
Would I go back. 100% yes.

Have not been here since pre-pandemic. Feels like the restaurant has lost some of the magic that made it special before. Great Michelin star service. Bad service is too quick.

I remember a great lunch here a few years ago. Unfortunately this time it was a nightmare.
12 courses in 55 minutes. The cheque was delivered when my glass was still 3/4 full.
Disappointing

My best meal experience in NYC, including various 3 stars. The reception as we walked through the door, the setting, the music and the bar seating in the main room were all great omens of what was to follow. We arrived early for lunch and were the last to leave despite there being no pressure for us to do-so from the team. The staff were SO lovely that they could have turned a mediocre meal (not AT ALL the case here!) into a pleasure. Special shout-out to Arthur and the manager (Su-Wong i think was her name) who were more than adorable, as were charming the cooks who present the dishes. The vibe is one of sophisticated laid-backness which was so refreshing after the previous days’ 3-star stuffiness. The food was of course sensational and we left with that wonderful glowing sensation of total fulfillment. Well done guys and thanks so much!

Modern restaurant with a u-shaped counter concept so that you can see the cooking right in front of you. The food is good although nothing is particularly memorable.
I can away a little confused about the identity of the cuisine: it is definitely not Chinese or Japanese but it is not western either, quite "Pacific Rim" and includes a bit of everything. I generally love a Kaiseki concept but the Japanese gives the course more contrast between hot vs cold, raw vs cooked, fried vs steamed; at Ko every dish is about the same temperature and cooked in similar ways.
I enjoyed the meal but I do think there is room for improvement.

East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
