We came here for drinks after a concert and then decided to have a pepperoni pizza too, and we fell in love with the place. The staff is incredibly friendly and the service personal and efficient. The place is small and so cosy, it reminds me of one of my favourite restaurants in Rome. They had excellent wine choices and... More

It is my son's favorite Italian place and I can see why. Tried it with him and a friend on a nice winter day and the coziness of the place was welcoming. The capresse salad is a never miss. The spaghetti marinaio is a bit on the spicy side. The eggplant parmigiana was an excellent choice (next time). And the... More

Came here on a tip and glad I did. My old college roommate that used to live in NYC texted me telling me to get here if I had the time. I did just that. Got a Peroni to start to accompany the olive oil and bread to munch on while my food was being prepared. Got the lasagna, as... More

Ate here before visiting One World Trade Centre as just around the corner. A group of 5 of us were squeezed around a small wooden table in the window, which I really liked. A much more sociable feel than being in a stuffy place with table cloths. Down to earth, non fussy food. We all had different pasta dishes that... More

The rustic and intimate table placement gives the restaurant a very comfortable feel. The service was prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. The food was exactly as described and perfectly prepared.

We visited here as a family before going up the One World Observatory which is just a short walk away. The restaurant is quite small but has a very relaxed atmosphere. We had a small table in the window where you could just see the antenna of the One World Observatory above the buildings opposite. We were greeted very quickly... More

Max is a simple but excellent restaurant. The he menu is actually sophisticated as is the wine cellar but the decor and he ambiance are warm and reminiscent of a by gone era. Two things stand out: price and quality. The owner is Italian and will greet you warmly.

My boyfriend took me here. It was a very intimate, yet relaxed. I would recommend for a date night place. The food was unique, fantastic, and the right portion size. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. It was all so good I had to make room for dessert. Highly recommend.

We went here the other day and had no reservations. No worries, we got a seat anyway. We both ordered some pasta wich was awesome. Really good taste and not to difficult. Biggest problem was that we were really rushed because of other reservations. First of all, why give us a seat? Second, when we were done nobody was waiting... More

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighbourhood Profile
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.
