My husband and I came here for lunch with my friend and her mother. We wanted to celebrate my friend's birthday. Our waitress, Luz, was a wonderful friendly waitress. She listened and delivered exactly what we asked for. I had avocado with poached eggs, Hubby had eggs with ham, my friend had frittata and her mom had an omelette. I... More

One of the best places to catch a few minutes for yourself. Every order is like a family visit! Friendliest staff I've ever met.

This restaurant has a large menu with many interesting dishes, all of them that my companion have tried delicious and perfectly prepared to order. The theme is dogs, of course, in many different iterations. Service is fast, friendly and very knowledgeable. It is laid out in an unusual manner so you can be sure of getting a table where you... We came in for dinner last night, I arrived alone and waited almost 45 minutes for my partner to join me. I've been given the cold shoulder for this at other places, but not here. The whole staff was VERY polite and courteous. I had the eggplant special appetizer and a glass of wine while I waited. My server was... More

For the most part, we always order the chopped cobb salad. It seems as if the other choices on the menu are at best average. The restaurant seems to do a lot of take out business and the place definitely needs updating. This restaurant is never crowded.

We have been going to Barking Dog restaurant for many years, since we live in the neighborhood. We have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant over the years. The food, preparation and portion was always decent. Over the last year, there has been a considerable decline in the preparation and quality of the food. My last meal was... More

Great food and always packed for brunch. They have a watering hole for your dog and dogs are treated quite well. Service is good and the food is excellent!

Hair free food please! Just found hair buried in Cole slaw and waiter tried to pass it off as hair that flew into the dish. No apologies. No surprise that it's there. Don't come here. Below subpar. With so many other choices there is no reason to come here. Plenty of other neighborhood diners that are far superior. With the... More

We were seated quickly around 9am on a rainy Monday morning and were served quickly with a great basic breakfast at a great price. They have some great special items on the menu, too.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
