Stopped by Johnny's place early in the morning to grab a bite to eat on our way to a business meeting. My wife and I ordered 2 breakfast burritos.. From our past experience we thought the prices Johnny's place had were reasonable and expected a mild sized burrito......... But then! We were surprised by this humongous burritos the size of... This is the most wonderful taco place I have ever been to! You haven't lived until you eat here. I, and many people I know drive many miles to eat here. Cash only. I wish they would change that

When I was last in Santa Barbara, I drove down to Johnny's for a shredded beef burrito, I had one and bought 7 more to take with me back to Boise, Idaho. I have been around and to me Johnny's are the best, I LOVE them, I wish they would mail them to me. NO beans, just beef, I first... More

Every Mexican taco stand has their own style... Johnnys style has been consistent for decades and continues to be a must stop when passing thru town. The crispy beef tacos and shredded beef burritos are mainstays here. Can't get enough of this food.

We had a picnic recently and someone brought breakfast burritos from this place. They were so big, so delicious and when I asked where they came from the person who brought them gave me a card and said they are consistently the best mexican food around that he now always brings the restaurants cards along with the order! And the... More

I used to eat at this place and it's still good but my brother, who now lives in New Orleans, cannot stay away from this place and swears that it is just as good this month as it was when he was a rowdy surfer boy in the 60's.

If you are looking for authentic, tasty Mexican food in Ventura, CA, this is the place. Their card says they have been in business since 1947 and if all the burritos taste like mine today, they will be around a lot longer. I had a Johnny's vegetarian and it was great: beans, rice, guacamole, peppers and cheese topped with their... More

It is very small, ordered at window from a gal that acted like a few questions were bothering her! There was a small room next to window with tables. I ask for our soda and chips before meal. She snapped at me saying they were cooking! ! Food was good, but I appreciate a smile from employees. Will I return?... More

This tiny whole in the wall location makes the best red chile and chili verde burrittos. Not a great neighborhood, mostly take out but so good after a day at the beach. I love their beans and salsa. My favorite is the taco special ... six cruncy tacos and drink. Packed with lots of meat and cheese and enough to... More
