A friend and I dropped in for a late lunch this afternoon. I really enjoy New Orleans style food, but believe me, this is not that. I had blackened chicken and she had blackened redfish. Both meats were mediocre at best and tiny, less than 1/3" in thickness and about the size of my palm. We both liked the cornbread.... More

Very quaint and sweet little gem. We went for lunch and they accommodated 6 of us easily. Food was generous portions. New Orleans flair to menu. Service was very swift and good. Food was very tasty. Gumbo was spicy.

I have eaten at the Cajun Kitchen numerous times, and at all of their various locations, and it is always great. Cajun focused menu, just breakfast and lunch. Only suggestion is that they should stay open for dinner on Fat Tuesday.

I had the Shrimp po boy and it was to die for. The chipotle aioli was great, the french fries hot. My wife had the biscuits and gravy and they were excellent. We also had beignets and they were small and very fresh and hot - awesome. Our server was Maricela M and she was terrific. Chairs were uncomfortable -... More

While on a little trip to Ventura, we found this place while out for an evening walk and decided to give it a try after the first cafe we tried was disappointing. Cajun Kitchen is so good, excellent friendly service, delicious food...what more could you ask for. It's the best breakfast place we've been to in a long time. If... More

My husband and I had an early lunch at this corner restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch throughout the day. You have access to the entire menu which is nice if you arrive for an early lunch. This is a noisy, bustling, vibrant restaurant with a creative menu. We were lucky to be seated in the back room which is a... More

Great for breakfast and always packed! We visited on a Sunday morning at 9. Only waited 10 minutes for a table. Very nice and polite wait staff. Menu is large. I had the California Benedict. Two English muffins each topped with avocado, tomato, poached egg and Hollandaise sauce. Very good and the Cajun spiced home fried potatoes were yummy! Bottom... More

We got there shortly before the kitchen closed the staff said we could order quickly and everything arrived promptly and tasty. The staff were attentive and didn't make us feel rushed at all. I will definitely go back and keeping in mind that the restaurant closes at 2:30 pm!

We stayed at the Ventura Marriott and ask the front desk for breakfast recommendation. Could not have been happier! Cute little hometown place with yummy food! Highly recommend :-)

We can in for eggs, and we ended up with Jambalaya! They custom made an egg dish for us too. Steaming hot food. Casual cafe environment.
