We loved this place! The waitress was incredibly friendly and offered great drink recommendations. I love that they take their identity as a speakeasy to heart, but not so much that they don't serve 'inauthentic' types of liquor-- you can get gin and vodka here...More

The food was good. Nothing over the top to write home about. The drinks were really the appeal of the place. Every single one we had was delicious and period appropriate. Reading the menu was difficult since it was very dark though. Oh, and don't...More

We had first gone to the Bookstore Speakeasy a few years ago for our anniversary, fell in love with the place, enjoying both the atmosphere and the food. Recently, we returned and unfortunately, things have really changed and not for the better. Apparently, it’s under...More

Like Morty said on Seinfeld: "cheap fabric and dim lighting that's how you move fabric." Well the bookstore took this philosophy and applied it to food. Thoroughly underwhelmed by this hip, no substance basement bistro.

We have been to the Bookstore on several occasions, and have always had a great meal. I personally love the short ribs they serve, I always have more than enough for lunch the next day. We recently had homemade pierogies with a cheddar beer sauce...More

Went to dinner with some friends and decided to give the Bookstore a try. It is very non descript from the outside, which added to mystery. The whole theme is a roaring 20's speakeasy. They had some very inventive and flavorful cocktails to start the...More

A very hard to find restaurant, but I think they do this intentionally- speakeasy and all. Dark inside, not wheelchair accessible, only one bathroom. #silversagers bring your glasses and a light! Wait staff was wonderful. The food was tasty but had the tiniest portions we'd...More

When I made my reservation I was asked if all members of my party were over 21. I would call them and ask if you choose to go there. We personally wouldn't go back.

No real "dress code"...we were in jeans/nice tops, but there were women in dresses/guys in dress slacks too. Just very comfortable atmosphere...
