We stopped here with friends and had the Penn Cove mussels, which Whidbey Island is famous for. We were not disappointed--they came in a nice garlic cream broth with crusty bread. Also tried their assortment of pickles (different each day) as an appetizer. These pickles were unusual, as they included beet roots and baby squash, and they were a big... More

Great restaurant and great view. I enjoyed sitting out on the terrace alone, finding peace and police, overlooking the water. The soups are absolutely excellent, and by report, the oysters as well. Home baked breads.

Quaint place, great food and friendly folks on a Saturday lunch stop. The mussels are a good size portion, prepared perfectly with a fabulous broth that it perfect for dipping their homemade bread in. Their Ruben was one of the best we've had constructed with their homemade red saurkraut, piled pastrami, Swiss cheese and grilled on their homemade bread. The... More

We had dinner there on a Friday evening. Resturaunt was full and busy. We were greeted and seated right away. Our waitress was a pro that made us feel welcome and explained a bit about the evenings menu to us. She nailed the wine description and that is appreciated. The gravlax with beet was the first taste of what continued... More

At least half a dozen usually- informed folks told me that The Oystercatcher was one of Coupeville's truly stellar restaurants. So, on a Friday afternoon at 2:00, we settled in for a lovely lunch on a very nice deck with a good view and a pleasant breeze. Everything went downhill -- steeply downhill -- from that moment on. Husband ordered... More

They really care about the quality and preparation of their ingredients, great service too. The bread, butter, desserts, even chocolates were made in-house. Definitely order the Penn Cove mussels, since this is where they're grown and harvested.

There is a row of good restaurants overlooking the water in Langley and all tempting with that view and averaging 3/3.5 ratings. But make sure you go just a block up Grace St. and, quite inconspicuous from the outside, you will be rewarded with a world class restaurant. Wonderful open kitchen setting (see pic) and feels more upscale Euro Bistro... More

There's a reason everyone tells you not to miss this place, it's fantastic! I wanted to try as much as possible, so I went with "small plates". By the way, not so small! Every dish, from the amuse Bouche to the dessert, was delicious. Do yourself a favor and make sure you have the house made bread. Photos below...Bon Appétit!
