Got a spot at the bar by arriving 30 min before opening. Had chef's tasting menu. Not an item that wasn't delicious. One of the best Israeli restaurants in the country. Definitely a place to eat when visiting Philadelphia.

Stylish, imaginative food, sometimes overly salty, great fresh pita bread, nice decor, good wines, lovely salads.

It was our last visit to Philly and we had 2 restaurants we hadn't gotten to. Settled for a 9:30 reservation to make sure we got to Zahav. The greeting, prompt seating and professional service were only outdone by the modern Middle Eastern cuisine. And...More

Solomonov and his Zahav restaurant exceeded our highest expectations. Had a family celebration dinner at Zahav last week - everything was absolutely perfect. Ambience, energy, wait staff, service, and of course - the food. The small plates were all phenomenal and the Lamb Merguez was...More

Considered one of the best restaurants in Philadelphia and for good reason. You'll be tantalized by the food, quenched by unique Middle Eastern wines, and provided with 5 star service by friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff. All this in a boisterous casual atmosphere with great...More

This is the third time we ate at Zahav's. We were seated in the room to the left as one enters, that seems somewhat secluded and therefore didn't have to sit cheek to jowl at the regular tables in the main diningroom. That was nice....More

Dinner at 5.15 on a Sunday, party of 3. We had a lovely time -- the restaurant itself feels very much like being in Israel, there's both a casualness and an energy to it. And they're serious about good food. We did the Tayim (tasting)...More

I recall Zahav from its developing days: tasty food made of natural, simple ingredients, casual but enthusiastic patrons, friendly, chatty bartenders. Since achieving its famed status: can't get in. There's a line for the bar, and you need to register your name to get a...More

Depending on how much you are going to drink, you are looking at around $125+ before tip. Worth every penny.
