I must qualify this review as not our usual experience. We've been at least six times and had delightful experiences. This past Wednesday, however, we were sorely disappointed. We came with friends to enjoy the Noel tasting menu. We were seated for our 7:15 reservation and it took 45 minutes for our server "Richard" to take our drink orders. Then... More

Non-pretentious french restaurant located just off the South Street hustle. Small bar area greets you; should you arrive without reservations or prefer to imbibe prior to your meal. We were seating promptly for our early evening dinner reservations the day after Christmas where we all selected the prix fixe menu, 4 selected the optional Apple sorbet with Calvados, 3 selected... As you walk in the door, to the left there is a single secluded table in the corner tucked away from all of the rest. It was serendipity that our table wasn't ready and the hostess offered it to us because it really made our Christmas Eve. The Vesper was perhaps the best I've ever had! The Blanquette de Veau... This restaurant doesn't seem to make Philadelphia Magazine's list of the 100 best. This is certainly a mistake. We can debate were it should rate but definitely not 101. Let's start with the room. There is plenty of space in a long room with a French flare (the toilette is also French with a co-ed sink and individual cabinets). The... More

I love French bistrots because they remind me of when I lived in Paris. We went to Bistrot La Minette to celebrate my birthday. Parking was a challenge. The restaurant does not offer valet parking. Parking on the street is the only option available and it requires driving around for several blocks to find a parking space. The decor of... More

Bistro continues to be consistently good. If it is available, we highly recommend you order the foie gras mousse, it is decadent and wonderful. On our evening it came with the charcuterie appetizer which also had a wonderful pork pate. We try to dine here at least quarterly as our meals are always enjoyable with some aspect being particularly memorable.... More

Here's a place where we forgot about the outside world and enjoyed the ambiance, the amazingly attentive service, and the wonderful cuisine. The creative dishes paired with the eye-catching presentations made it an utterly enjoyable evening! The service was as attentive without being obtrusive as we've experienced since Le Bec Fin closed down. The salmon was perfectly cooked with the... More

Philly offers some french bistrot including this one. But the service attitude of this one is the worst. Not sure why they have a manager who is full of arrogance.

Great selection of appetizers ncluding escargot and a specialty involving poached egg, mussels, fabulous sauce. Entrees that my group tried --all delicious-- were the trout, chicken, rabbit. We tried several of the desserts, all good, but I'd put the homemade sherbet at the top of the recommendations--intense flavor! Wine list more than satisfactory, beer, too, and some unusual and tasty... More

My girlfriend and I decided to be adventurous and try the tasting menu and let the chef pick what we eat and it was awesome. On the main course they give you both something different so you can try even more things. It was a great experience. We are from the woods of Jersey and this was quite the experience....... More
