This is the perfect trattoria for the neighborhood. The only drawback is the lack of parking options for drivers, but for a walking neighborhood it is just what is needed! Gently priced and really cozy.

My first time, second time for my date. We ordered two different meatball appetizers. I'm rating these good because to me they were bland. Conversely, my date found them delicious. We split a fish entree with pomegranates. A wonderful combination. My white wine varieties were...More

Warm ambiance, creative but hearty food. A bit off the beaten path on 13th, but I kinda like that. Service is excellent, attentive without being overbearing. All staff have a good sense of humor, so really good banter. Dishes are good across the board, with...More

We had an early dinner before a show at the nearby theater district. Plenty of tables open at the start which filled quickly as we enjoyed our meal. We never felt rushed and service was attentive and informative. The fresh baked foccacia was warm and...More

A local recommended to us while we were at the Christmas Village. Small, chic atmosphere, excellent wait staff, reasonably priced and amazing food...especially the Buffalo ricotta...yum!

I really enjoy the food and vibe at Amis. I've never been disappointed. While initially, I would over eat... with my more frequent meals, I've decided it's best to sample the food, (usually the nightly specials are so good, I order all three options) and...More

This is the second time at Amis. The first time was fine and would have given a rating of 4. This time I would have given a rating of 4 as well but our waiter was terrible. He was never to be seen and it...More

Wonderful Italian restaurant w/ imaginative dishes. Especially liked the Branzino with avocado, surprisingly good combo. Sweetbread scrumptious. Homemade pasta special superb. Chic atmosphere, though noisy when full. Wonderful service, good wine selection. Would return

Description
Amis brings the quintessential Roman-style trattoria to Philadelphia’s Center City neighborhood. Opened in 2010 by Vetri Family partners Jeff Benjamin and Chefs Marc Vetri, Brad Spence and Jeff Michaud, Amis has cemented its place as one of the city’s premier dining destinations, garnering high praise from such publications as the Philadelphia Inquirer (three-out-of-four-bells) and Bon Appetit magazine (“Top 10 Places for Pasta in the U.S.”), and from the crowds of regular guests who pack its dining room nightly for dinner and weekends for brunch. Lively, comfortable and convivial, dining at Amis is perfect for a variety of occasions, boasting a share-plates menu of house-made pasta, salumi, farm-fresh meats and peak seasonal vegetable dishes, perfect for sharing while celebrating with friends and family, or a meal out with someone special. Be sure to ask about our “Beast of Amis” menu too. These special dishes feature whole animals—birds, hogs, fish and even full sides of beef.
