The service is efficient and friendly ( but it gets crowded and noisy very quickly ). Its more of a bar/meeting place and couples hangout -- not really for families. However there are two exceptional dishes which I could order over and over again: The Pork Belly Bao ( crisped perfectly, yet tender and slightly sweet ) and the Bulgogi... More

Fun and trendy restaurant that's still intimate and romantic for a date night while being great for groups too. Urban ambience and the menu is really wonderful--a mix of creative and comforting Asian fusion tapas but also with large plates available. Make a reservation! My husband and I made a reservation for 10pm and it was still crowded with people... More

We had a really great experience here to celebrate our anniversary. They suggest sharing dishes which was fun - no complaints on any food! Best was edema me dumplings (odd choice for us but I can't stop thinking about it!) and the beef satay. So tender!! Our waitress was amazing and so helpful with menu choices and watching for our... Great food and drinks!. staff very knowledgeable and accommodating to the menu. downfall very crowded so definitely not intimate atmosphere.. but contemporary and fun. Only bad thing.. bathrooms were a bit messy and all but one stall had no TP. I had to inform staff which didn't seem to be a priority- probably reason why there was such a long... More

Happy hour is 4-7 Mon-Fri. Get the edamame dumplings. They are exquisite and flavored with truffle oil in a sake broth and is one of the best things I've ever eaten. Or go for the Kim Chee Rice bowl and for $4 bucks this is a big bowl of rice and a cooked eggs on top. Between the two you'll... More

We went for dinner, service was excellent, informal but very efficient. The restaurant is a little bit noisy but acceptable, you can talk without problems. Good atmosphere. We chose the tasting menu, seven dishes that you select from the menu plus desert. Asian food, excellent cooked , dumplings, Pekín duck, sea bass, rice....everything was extraordinary. We had two glasses of... More

I was lucky to hear about Sampan from my hotel door man- what a find! It was just me so they put me at the viewing bar and what a show! These guys put out amazing food - Asian bar food at its best. Make it a place to eat when you go to downtown Philly.

Very interesting place. I have eaten up front many times but never knew there was a bar outback. It appears they converted this space from what was once a storage area and turned it into an outdoor bar. Very cool. Death trap as almost impossible to get in and out. Otherwise it was very cool spot and in that it... More
