Fortunately, we came across Barbuzzo where we sat at the bar overlooking the chefs master their techniques in the kitchen. Everything is made right there. Pasta, deserts, etc. so it is all very fresh and delicious. We had the winter squash tortelli, short rib plate and a margherita pizza as an appetizer. Also had the blackberry-bergamot tea sorbet for desert.... More

We are Italian and when we ate the Margherita we said "Finally a real good Italian pizza!!" It's the real Napoletana pizza. We went to Barbuzzo a couple of times and we ate also the homemade tortelli that were so good!

The candle-lit, cozy environment is very welcoming (unless I had children...and a stroller...) for a great date night, or time with friends (I've been for both). The wine selection is amazing and the small plates reminded me of an "Italian tapas" restaurant. Being Italian, it is hard to impress me - especially with Italian gravy - but they do not... More

Came here for a quick solo bite post-conference and left a little disappointed. The restaurant was packed - always a good sign - so I sat at the bar. Bar-hipster took my order in fairly disinterested fashion (not an issue, he's a busy guy and needs to maintain a hip veneer). I asked for olives to start followed by gnocchi.... More

Sharing plates, the recommended strategy, provides a flavorful variety of options. The brussels sprouts and branzino were particularly good. My wife and I (mid-60's) definitely skewed the age demographics. On a January midweek evening, the joint was jumping. The narrow space, hard surfaces and packed tables (plus the unnecessary music) contributed to a loud, high-energy experience.

Perfection for solo or non-solo drinking and dining...arrive early, dine and drink at the bar...unbelievably fresh, delicious, and unique food and attentive service. Loved every minute of it.

Such delicious salads and pizza! Creative, seasonal menu choices coupled with a cozy atmosphere and excellent service make this a great lunch spot. I've been here in the past for dinner and haven't been as impressed (too loud, service only ok), but I'll definitely keep Barbuzzo on my short list of Center City lunch destinations.

Came here for lunch. Had the standard Margherita pizza. It was fine. Not great, not bad. The beer was average as well. Good place in a pinch. Wouldn't go back however.

Don't waste your time nor taste... although cheap and that's what you get... horrible service and cooks young and over tatted over... I guess if your young and don't know it's ur place... no meat dishes... great place for soup of day...

This tends to be my go to place when I am in Philadelphia and dining solo. It is really comfortable with really great Italian/Mediterranean specialties. The bar is great if dining solo, but it is a great place to meet friends.

Barbuzzo is a Mediterranean restaurant and bar located in the trendy Midtown Village area of center city. We serve small plates intended to share. With a wood-burning oven for pizzas & roasting, Barbuzzo’s menu features rustic, hand crafted regional fare such as: Grilled Octopus with fingerlings, roasted peppers & soppressata; Parsnip ravioli with duck ragu and roasted pears; Uovo Pizza with brussel leaves, guanciale, & truffle farm egg. Menu items range in price from $3 to $32. Barbuzzo has a full bar featuring Mediterranean wines, craft beers and cocktails. We have bar and counter seating overlooking the open kitchen available for walk ins.
