Stopped in for a quick light meal at 4:30 on a Saturday. Sat at a table in the bar area. The decor was dark but cozy. The main dining room is on the second floor so I never saw it. Ordered the Crab Au Gratin off the light menu. It was creamy and cheesy and browned off just right. It... More

I planned a girls weekend for 6 and wanted a restaurant near our hotel that could accommodate different dietary needs. We stayed at the Sheraton Phila Downtown, in walking distance of the museums, and the Rose was perfect. Don't be put off by the sketchy exterior - it's very cozy inside. We were given a table that was private enough... More

We had dinner here after visiting the Barnes Foundation. A short walk from the Barnes. Great dinner! The tomato soup (special for the day) and goat cheese and beet salad were both very good starters. The homemade tortellini was excellent. The Tattoo Pasta, homemade pappardelle with a fantastic meat sauce, was excellent as well. Good service. We will go back... More

Philadelphia is a wonderful city with great food. Rose Tattoo is one of my little gems! Whenever I have visited, there has been a steady flow of patrons, but never overwhelmingly crowded and I never wait for a table. Servers (even when eating in the bar) are professional and present, but not overbearing! The food is always prepared according to... More

We stumbled across the Rose Tattoo Cafe after a long day at the Franklin Institute. It has a warm, cozy and welcoming ambience. The food is good. It is typical bar food that is tasty and they have a great beer selection. We took our 3 kids there and found it to be very kid friendly.

This Restaurant has been in business for over 100 years, the current owner, Mr Michael Weinstein purchased it in 1983, and the current chef, Mr Alan Lichtenstein joined around 1996. The menu is well put together, I ordered the crab cakes on a bed of vegetables and asparagus, which were cooked to perfection, served still crunchy, with a fabulous sauce... More

Chose this place because of it's proximity to the Franklin institute and the menu looked like something we would like. My family(wife and four adult children) thought the atmosphere was very charming and quaint. The place was not busy and they had groups spread out for privacy. Very nice touch. Our waiter was spot on. Very attentive and not obtrusive.... More

We looked for a good restaurant walking distance from the Barnes Foundation Museum and were lucky to find the Rose Tatoo Cafe. They make all their own pasta and the food was fresh as it gets. My husband had pasta with short rib and sausage bolagnese and I had a short rib and arugula flatbread; both were fantastic. The wait... More

This is a great place for a great dinner and conversation. A beautiful building, with a nice dining room. I personally prefer the tables near the bar. Food is always good, be sure to listen to the specials. This isn't one of the new trendy places where the sound level is so high you have to scream at your dinner... More
