The cafe is a pretty nice place (although a bit dark and stuffy) with good vibes and a mixed crowd, but the food was just ok. There weren't many vegetarian options but I got some toast and then a waffle. The dishes are not super huge and I actually got hungry again pretty soon after we left. Took some time... More

Visiting Philadelphia again and met a friend for brunch at Cafe Lift. Excellent once again. Breakfast burrito was large and beautifully done. My special tostada was a great mix of flavors, well balanced with over easy eggs that were cooked with properly runny yolks. And friend and I were meeting for first time in a while. We were given a... More

My wife and I went here for breakfast during our stay in Philadelphia. The food was terrific! My wife got blueberry pancakes with eggs and I got French toast with fresh fruit (blueberries, bananas, strawberries) Service was lagging but was acknowledged by the manager and we were accommodated for our wait. Great food and daily specials.

We had tried this once before for brunch, and it had been pretty good. Our recent visit leads me to write this review with some cautions. If you've looked at their website, you know there are long waits and it is cash only. That open kitchen makes for a very hot room on a hot day outside, so this might... More

Dined solo, so I could only sample the lemon ricotta pancakes and spicy fennel sausage. I love lemon ricotta pancakes and usually order them whenever I see them on a menu. The version at Cafe Lift were good, but not great. Not enough strawberries and the pancakes were lacking that awesome texture that makes ricotta pancakes so friggin good. I... More

We discovered this little gem while in town for the Democratic National Convention, and we liked it so much we had brunch/lunch there twice. It's fast and efficient, always important for weekday dining. And the setting has a cool industrial vibe. But the food is the real star here. I had the BLAT sandwich both times because it was that... Yes, we went two mornings in a row. We had different plates each day and loved it all. The cannoli French toast on challah is out of this world. The breakfast burrito was stuffed full. The potatoes are delicious. The bacon is thick and perfectly crispy. The eggs were cooked exactly how I like them. The eggs Benedict was great.... More

The food is absolutely delicious! It's a bit off the beaten path, but well worth it when you get there. We went for breakfast, and there was so much food in the plate we couldn't eat it all.....but it was so good! Even the coffer was delicious! We got there right at 10 a.m. on a Saturday and there was... More

It was Sunday and being that it was our first time in Philly, none of us knew where to go. Then we found Cafe Lift. What. A. Surprise. I expected good brunch/breakfast food but this blew my mind. We were a party of 4 and were seated within 10 minutes. Two of us got French toast, one got eggs, and... More
