Since the new manager took over early last year, this place has really become quite good. The service has improved dramatically. The Bar B Q is excellent and the sauces are very good. I love the chicken, beef, and pulled pork. They also have a huge selection of sides and the ranch dressing is home made if you have a... More
This place was AWFUL. The water tasted like it came from a pond after a hurricane. The utensils were dirty, the meat was tasteless, the BBQ sauces runny. Avoid like the plague. I still feel sick when I think about it.
not sure, but I don't think the location I visited is on the list- Woody's on University Ave, Jacksonville- was just average, the pork spareribs were ok, sauces ok, the bean with brisket were good, the mashed potatoes were horrible- they had some crappy dark gravy that ruined it. Had a cold Yuengling to compensate
We stopped for a quick lunch and had top notch service and excellent food. Chicken was cooked just right and the pork was tasty. The new owners have done a great job of bringing this Woody's back up to the quality expected from these restaurants.
I tried the ribs, which were skimpy on the bones, but the smoked wings were good. Please try the different types of sauces (mustard based and tomato based), which could determine your enjoyment of this dining experience.
I took my dad to Woody's BBQ on Phillips Highway recently for dinner. We often go to Woodys in Jacksonville, the original on University usually or the one on Powers. This was my first time at this location. He ordered a brisket sandwich and I had a sloppy woody. I this his brisket should have been called a fatty brisket.... More
It was close to our hotel (Suburban Extended), was very tasty BBQ food and better surroundings than some BBQ places.
I stopped on a Saturday night for dinner. I had planned on eating at a Mexican place in the same shopping center. It was very busy, so I decided to go a few doors down and eat here. Being empty on a Saturday night should have been a red flag. I ordered a combo plate. The pulled pork was good.... More
I ate at a Woody's when I lived in Melbourne, FL so I thought I would try this one. It was as good as I remembered. I like this BBQ place more than any similar place here in West Virginia. I wish they would open up a Woody's here in Huntington.
