We there yesterday to get the Avocado toast And was very disappointed on it..first it had too much 🥑 on it and I ask for cheddar cheese and got loose cheddar cheese and what got it last week it was a whole lot better and...the sandwich was toast like a grilled cheese sandwich..it was awesome but not this time.. I was very surprised during the Covid pandemic that I witnessed on multiple times during my visit where placemats were placed on the table with clean silverware while it was only wiped off not even a rag but a piece of dry paper towel I...was horrified to see her place the placemats down when you could visibly see food still on the table she did not even wipe off the seats where the food that she scraped off the table was on the seats this place cannot be trusted to keep you safe during the pandemicMore

Was in town for Thanksgiving, went to the Metro Diner four times. The food is fantastic! We had breakfast three days and lunch the other day. Everything we had was outstanding. The portions are generous, highly recommended!

We're snowbirds spending the winter at a marina within walking distance of this diner. It's become a necessary part of our weekly meal rotation. This diner is always busy. Without exception, the customer service is excellent - friendly and efficient! The food is good and...the prices are right. My husband loves the meat and potato offerings, and I've enjoyed fish and chips (not overly greasy like most places) and fresh salads. Last week we sat at the counter and thoroughly enjoyed watching the team cook, assemble and serve the meals. We observed a wonderful camaraderie and display of excellent teamwork. My wife and I stopped here on the last morning of a trip to Jacksonville. We stayed at the Navy lodge on NAS Jacksonville and this was right down the road off the same 4 lane highway (Roosevelt BLVD). Busy place, conversations and plates clanging,...the hiss of a griddle in the background and a lot of servers on a mission. Not your Waffle House or IHOP though- definitely homemade ingredients and plentiful servings. A good combination of Cracker Barrel food with the hustle and bustle of a diner. Megan our server was great. The patrons were families, elderly folks, middle aged, you name it- a lot of people going by tables and conversating with one another, indicating many locals and regulars were present. Very pleased and I can’t wait to go back if we’re ever in Jacksonville again!More

I moved to Jacksonville in May of 2019 and I've eaten at this spot several times. I've had quite a few out of town guests and I always take them here. This place has wonderful food and consistent great service. You may have to wait...a little bit for a table but it's well worth it.More

Food is consistently good, service is fast and friendly, it's as close to a New Jersey diner experience as we have found in Florida with a Southern spin on most of their recipes. This was a lunch experience, but their full menu is available for...breakfast, lunch and dinner, so we tend to lean toward breakfast items for our orders.More

We look forward to being in this area and have access to Metro Diner for a fantastic nut filled waffle served with fresh fruit! Spouse loved Greek omelet!! Fresh food, coffee refilled without having to ask! Our server was warm and personable! The manager checked...to see if we needed anything. We arrived around 11:15 am and had no difficulty being seated right away! Breakfast is served all day and we all ordered eggs of some sort. The hash browns were served hot and they were delicious. One order for two people would have been plenty....Celeste did a great job as our waitress and we appreciated the wonderful service. This is a great location and I always get a fantastic meal at Metro Diner!More

Husband had chicken and waffles I had bacon eggs and pancakes service is always good here the only problem is they are a little pricey. My own fault I should have ordered something else like eggs benedict that's what I will do next time. Because...I can get bacon eggs and pancakes somewhere else a lot cheaper. I had just come from getting blood drawn so I was starving from fasting. And I have to say their grits are the best grits I've ever had anywhere I do not know what their secret is but they are wonderful!More

Typical diner food. Basic, well prepared. Diner standards like chicken fried steak, burgers, and sandwiches. Specials of the day as well. Beef tips with mushroom gravy was tasty. I really like their mashed red skinned potatoes - good flavor that compliments the gravy. Hubby had...fried pork sandwich. Too much bread (they used Texas Toast) and fried jalapeno was just too much heat.More

Metro Diner is known for their great breakfast and lunch, and this location is no different. I’ve been to this location for lunch with colleagues a couple of times in the past week, and we were impressed each time. The only challenge we faced was...deciding what to order because there are SO MANY really good options! My favorite breakfast option is the Bissell Breakfast - you won’t leave hungry if you order it (it’s basically a breakfast sampler, with large portions), followed by their Cinnamon Roll Pancake. The last two times we went, I ordered a chef salad, and it was HUGE! The first day I ordered it, it was one of their specials. The second time I went, it was not on the menu, but the staff was nice enough to let me order it anyway. I thought it was nice that they went above and beyond by allowing me to order it, and it tasted great - their chipotle ranch dressing was some of the best I’ve ever had. This is definitely a go-to restaurant, and I have recommended it to our new employees who were just hired.More
