They could not explain their menu items. They had paper napkins at dinner time. The price was reasonable and the food was ok.

We stopped in for a quick Indian bite. It was an Indian buffet which is exactly what we wanted. The food was tasty although it was on the cold side. The dumplings were hot and very good but I wouldn't consider them Indian perse. The restaurant is a bit run down but service was good and we enjoyed in general.... More

I am a huge Indian food connoisseur and I've been to all the ones in Atlanta, but this one in Baltimore takes the cake as being top of my favorite indian places in the world. The spread is very generous in terms of options. Good vegetarian options and good meat options. Their tea desi is very good- plenty of sugar... More

Local competition for Nepalese and Indian food in the surrounding few blocks is high and apparently this reflects in the quality of what's on offer. The food was tasty and they didn't compromise on spice like so many others who appear to pander to the Western tastes of many. Lost a point for the rice. It was dry, almost certainly... More

Six of us went to Kumari before a concert at the Peabody Institute, only a few blocks away. That was handy -- only had to park the car once. Everyone ordered a different dish along with a few things for the table. They were very flexible about separating the check in various ways. The food came with reasonable speed and... More

I go to Kumari for the lunch buffet once every few months. Is it by far one of the best Indian buffets that I've been to. The tea is also some of the best that I've had. There are several dishes here that you won't find at other Indian buffers such as the Gobi Manchurian, which is great!

The place is family and friends friendly! The food is delicious especially the deserts like gulab jamun and Kheer. The masala chai at the end of a hearty meal completes the gastronomic experience. The buffet is the meal to get which really is fulfilling. The staff is quite friendly and the background music reminds you of the Himalayas. The pictures on... More

The first time we ordered take out we ended up with hair in the food and curdled yogurt sauce. The second time we ordered here is because we forgot the name of the indian food the floor ordered and tried this one. Unfortunately we got the same indian place as last time. I have never had worst food poisoning in... More

Kumari's probably offers one of the best Indian lunch buffets in Baltimore. Prices are inexpensive (around $12). Seating is plentiful. There's a good variety of food. Quality is great. It also offers the most meat I've seen among the Charles Street Indian buffets. Big fan of the goat curry and the fried fish. Naan, of course, is a beloved staple.... More
