We went with friends who had always wanted to try this spot. We had not been in several years. It was a disappointment. The space looks old and tired. The wait staff was adequate at best. We did enjoy some nice cocktails and a decent beer menu. The wine list was ridiculous - a few moderately priced selections surrounded by... More

We started with a rarity--reasonably priced parking in Fells Point! Our server took us on a fresh fish tour--no prices mentioned. The grilled octopus salad was delicious. Our friends had a standard Greek salad. We each split a good sized branzini, which was reasonably priced. The major problem was the baklava ice cream--very good, but not worth $11. Price not... We went there for a date night a few weeks ago. The restaurant wasn't busy yet service was extremely slow. Their baked fresh fish was really good. The appetizers were just OK.

We were excited to try this week established Greek restaurant. Was very disappointed. Service was terrible. Everything took forever and it was not crowded. $25 appetizer plate of humus, tatziki etc was served with 5 little pieces of olive bread. Olive bread was very good but appetizer sat in table for 15 minutes before any bread. When requested pita bread... More

nice birthday dinner with good friends. wonderful selection of fresh seafood, well prepared foods. service somewhat erratic, one initial server followed by a variety of others some of whom were accessible others not so much. Meals very tasty but not as classic greek as expected. Pricey but not outrageous.

We had 7:15 reservations last Friday night. We were seated and the water was poured. No one came again for 10 minutes. We were about to leave but a waitress came over and asked if we had been helped. We said no and she apologized. So okay. But she was not knowledgeable about the menu, was not helpful and we... More

I picked the Black Olive for my wife's birthday dinner with a few friends. It had been on our restaurant list for years and I thought it would be the perfect time to finally check it out. First, valet parking is $10. I hate when the restaurant doesn't cover parking. We started with the taziki and humus. Both just average.... More

The Black Olive represents authentic Mediterranean cuisine at its best. Humbly I have some authority to make this statement, having lived in Greece, traveled throughout the region, staying with cousins in Southern Italy; and to this day I have a 97 year-old Sicilian/American grandmother who lives alone and cooks all of her own meals, which on occasion I am fortunate... Octopus Appetizer was excellent. The seafood soup was good but I had MUCH higher expectations. The carrot cake was underwhelming. Wine by the glass is very small in quantity. Overall ok

A classic Greek Psarotaverna (fish tavern) set in the charming Fell's Point historic district since 1997. Serving world class seafood and Greek specialties using the finest organic ingredients. Specializing in whole fish filleted table side. Extensive wine list selections and private wine cellar dining to complement the bold flavors of Executive chef Pauline Spiliadis who bakes the best bread daily. You will be transformed from the cobblestone streets of one of America's first seaports to a a Greek island. The tender octopus and the grilled stuffed calamari have developed a cult like following. It is clear that the special relationships with the world of winemakers brings selections that are not found many places in the world. The first to introduce farm to table and organic ingredients to Baltimore. Serving lunch and dinner daily.
