There are some places you don't mind the wait, this is it. Thank you all for the mighty fine foods and the SWEET TEA just the way my grandmom made.

Mrs. Wilkes' dining room is tucked away on a lovely, tree-shaded side street. We relied on our cell phones' GPS systems to guide us there, and the directions were somewhat confusing, but we are so happy we found it! The food is as we expected...More

Another great experience at the boarding style restaurant. Fried chicken, beef stew and BBQ were all excellent. Vegetables were all tasty and the banana pudding was great. Sitting at a table with people from around the country and hearing about their trip to our city...More

If you don't mind standing in line for a few hours before they open - go for it. We arrived in the rain around 10AM for their 11 AM opening and the line was around the block. We were seated with a fun group of...More

We were recommended that if we were to visit only one restaurant in Savannah then make sure it is Mrs Wilkes. It is only open for lunch from 11 am on Monday to Friday only. Dinner is not served. It is not possible to make...More

The food was good with lots of variety, southern fried chicken, black eyed peas, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, I can't remember everything that was on the table. The food was presented family style at long tables, it was fun to meet people from other parts...More

One of the most unique dining experiences in Savannah. Get there early, the line grows quickly, but the food is worth the wait. Don't forget to bring cash - they don't take cards. You'll sit at a table with other guests and enjoy a family...More

I don't know, you'd be better off calling them direct. I did not see anyone with wine or alcohol, but we were there for lunch.

I don't recall all of the vegetable and side dishes because there were so many - beans, mac and cheese, beans. I could have been happy with the sweet potatoes alone - my favorite. Most of these didn't seem to have pork in... More
