We loved the “family style” concept and thoroughly enjoyed allllll of the food (maybe a little too much! :)) The line seems slightly daunting at first, but gives you time to meet & talk with the same people you’ll probably be seated with. Delicious!

This is one of the best restaurants in Savannah. Much better than Paula Deen's. I give a 10+. Get there early, long line, but worth the wait.

If you are in Savannah than Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room is a must visit. The southern cuisine served family style is to die for if you like Moms home cooking. Great atmosphere and great service. You’ll always remember the trip to this fabulous restaurant.

Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room certainly lived up to expectations as being the strongest representation of southern home cooking in Savannah. They open at 11am but the line to be seated begins to form much before that. My friend and I got there around 9:30 and...More

I finally stood in line for an hour waiting to eat at Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room. I’m on the fence if it’s worth the wait. I’m glad I did it, but I’m not sure if I would do it again. The fried chicken, collard greens,...More

Get there early. Lines start well over an hour before it opens. Beware the line cutters! Amazing food and tons of it. Nice people working there. You want for nothing. This place lives up to the hype.

For those who grew up in the south, eating at Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room will remind you of eating at grandma's house! For those who grew up in the north, this is a culinary experience you don't want to miss while visiting Savannah. Yes, the...More

Get here early, the line forms pretty early and can extend for a block or more. Never having been before, I wasn't really sure what to expect. The restaurant opens at 11:30 am and the diners fill tables. If you are 4 seated at a...More

It was a hot day and we were in line for 2 hours, but it was totally worth the wait (they had free cold water). Inside it is like sitting down for a delicious home cooked meal, the fried chicken was some of the best...More

I don't believe there are stairs since it is ground level, but possibly one small step at the entrance, sorry, I can't recall. But I believe it is handicapped accessible. You may want to call to confirm.
