I ordered scallops and my wife ordered prime rib. The small salad bar is nice. It has soups and bread as well. Our meals were very good (just what each of us wanted). Too full for dessert. We have been here a few times. It has always been a good place to go. I would recommend this to anyone.

If you love homemade bread, then don't miss Coal Yard Charlies. The bread bar, that is with the soup and salad bar, can be a meal itself. Usually three different types and so delicious! They offer a large menu selection and various specials. It was hard to choose. Prices were affordable, staff was pleasant, good location, good size portions and... More

I really enjoyed the soup and salad bar. The soup sounded like something I would not like but I tried it and it was delicious.

Great food, great price. It gets pretty busy at lunch, so you might have to wait a bit. Consider take out? Atmosphere is good. The tables aren't too close together so I don't feel like I'm eating with the next group of people too. Salads are good, but I am partial to a juicy bacon swiss burger.

Went for a late night dinner and was very satisfied with our meals and salad bar items! The place is old and the main room needs some work! Tables are slanted do to the floor and furniture needs updating! Food prices are reasonable! I recommend not getting there too late as they dismantle the salad bar promptly at the advertised... Crowded with slow service. The steak I had was tasteless and had a large piece of gristle. Friend had chicken Oscar which was dry and asparagus was overcooked. Salad bar was very limited and the "bread Bar" had three loaves of very average, cold grocery bread. Honest, you can do better.

This used to be our favorite spot for family get togethers and occasions. The quality is not what it once was. The salad bar is still the one constant (along with the cheese bread) - otherwise, the steaks are underseasoned and not prime cuts, the chicken riggies I ordered the prior visit were dry and it tasted like someone put... Tends to be crowded. But it's easy to find and the service is good. We got the fish fry last Friday and it was the same fish fry you get anywhere, except more expensive. The best part is the soup, salad and bread bar.

It's average. Parking OK, location easy to find. Darker and more cramped dinning than I prefer. (I'd pick the Franklin over Coalyard's - for menu and value. Coalyard's also takes a (month?) long "sabatical" during the year sometimes - so call ahead to make sure they are open.
