The place has been going a good while and has done pretty well. Still does decent broths and the like but has run its course for me.

Always enjoyed coming here. We've been for brunch on a Sunday after church, a late lunch and dinner. We'll be going back again soon. Good food at a good price.

After an event at Barclays we walked over. Just a short block away. The sign says Latin food, when asked the host said Cuban. Well it was delicious. We started with the pulpo salad (octopus). It was sprinkled with red wine vinegar, I believe. There was a bit of wilted lettuce, lots of red & green peppers & onions. The... More

We stopped by for lunch and had a great meal. The restaurant is large and has an attached bar. We ordered marinated chicken and pork chops with crispy plantains, poblano potatoes and rice & beans as sides to share. The chicken was tender and juicy (about as moist a chicken I have ever tasted) and had just enough spice. The... More

This is our go to place for good Spanish food. The service is always fantastic and we'll organized and staff is super friendly. The portion are just right and perfectly cooked. You will leave absolutely stuff but not broke. You can't beat that.

I was looking for a place to eat prior to a concert at the barclay center. The menu here looked interesting so I went in. It took two waiters and 20 minutes before I got a glass of red wine, and then the wine was so bad I couldn't drink it. got up and left.

One of the perks of neighborhood eating in NYC is the wide choice of ethnic restaurants. El Viejo serves food with a Dominican twist, new to this traveler. Both the service and food was superior to the usual chain restaurant.

We were going to a concert at the Barclays center and wanted to eat dinner somewhere close. We were 4 couples and many of the restaurants nearby were small and crowded. Yayo is a nice sit down restaurant with plenty of room. We were seated quickly and our food order taken quickly as well. We had a variety of dishes... More

El Viejo Yayo is an excellent restaurant in downtown Brooklyn. The ambiance had an authentic South American feel. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. Lots of locals were hanging out here for very good reason!
