Trying to understand the raving reviews on Trip Advisor. Don't get me wrong ...the food and atmosphere in this small restaurant were good. It just wasn't outstanding. I started with the steamed mussels. They were fresh and very tasty ...however they came to the table luke warm. My next course was spaghetti with clams. It was very good ...just not... More

Anything you have here will be delicious. This cozy, friendly, and beautiful little place has excellent rustic and completely unpretentious Italian dishes. The waiters are all well-informed, efficient, and friendly. The menu changes depending upon what's in season and in the market, and you really could order anything and be delighted. Very busy at lunch and dinner, so you might... More

We all opted for the salad of oranges, onion, fennel and pomegranate seeds followed by polenta with mushrooms and greens topped with a poached egg, and we were delighted with the beautiful full flavors and subtle combinations in our selections. Portion size was excellent, but they were so tasty that we felt it necessary to try a couple of desserts... More

Never dissatisfied at this quaint spot. The food is simply well done! Portions aren't large but well appointed. Flavors are full & rich. Seasonal menu, not a huge selection however it works. Wish there was a larger variety of reds by the glass. Cocktails are up to par. The space is warm and cozy with dim candlelight, great for date night.... More

This restaurant gets very busy on the weekends, but it is well worth a wait! The ambiance is lovely, and our waiter was friendly, attentive, and patient in describing the menu and specials. We shared the mussels, which were large and served in a fabulous sauce. Homemade pasta is excellent here, and we usually opt for the special of the... More

Brooklyners favourite place to dine. Go early to get a table! Cozy interior with lively family-style ambiance. Chef Anna Klinger offers authentic Northern Italian cuisine with plenty of menu options plus daily specials. Share a pasta dish to start (tantalizing butternut squash ravioli when in season), prosciutto layered pork with crushed golden roasties and Brussels sprouts or fresh sea bass... More

On a busy streetcorner in brooklyn sits al di la---actually two of them. One is a standard restaurant with a great brunch menu. We sampled two of the dishes ( polenta with funghi, pork belly hash) and were blown away. Around us others ate pasta, sandwiches and salad, each with a bit of flair. The second al di la adjacent... Very small restaurant with a nice atmosphere. We had a difficult time choosing from the menu. The mussels in a white wine sauce were very good. The Risotto with quail was exceptional. The kale salad was just right. The ravioli with butternut squash was wonderful. We chose a red blend wine which was very good. We just happened by and... More

On one of our weekend trips to visit our daughter and dine at one of the many wonderful restaurants in Brooklyn, we found Al Di La Trattoria. It was a beautiful day so we decided to walk around the area near her apartment and she indicated that some of her colleagues had said it was terrific. They did not lie... More
