A Mixed Bag

We dined shortly after the restaurant opened at 5:30 PM. Decor was pleasant as was the server. The food was a mixed bag. The Samosa Chat appetizer was tasty, though barely lukewarm. My benchmark dish in Indian/South Asian cuisine is chicken saag. I've had it in many restaurants. This version lacked any spinach taste. It was bland and lacked the fresh, green taste offered by spinach. It was bland, though we did ask for 'mild' seasoning. They spiced it more at our request, but it still lacked any real spinach taste. The chicken was cooked and unremarkable. Taken as a whole, a somewhat disappointing dining experience. I'll not be returning.

My first visit seemed average but it seems to get better and better. If I'm in Towson and free for lunch KK is where I go. They have a good selection of the usual stuff, all full-flavored, and all at a low college town price.

I ordered from the online app for this restaurant, and the order arrived at the designated time, with everything hot and perfectly packaged. The chicken tikka masala was especially good, as was the naan. YUM! We'll be back--maybe in person this time.

Noshing at Kathmandu Kitchen

I asked a local for a good place to eat while in Towson, Maryland and was directed to the "Kathmandu Kitchen". The experience was fantastic, and my wife totally enjoyed her meal, which is a rare event unto it's self. The staff was amazing and the food was well prepared and delicious. We enjoyed "Kathmandu Kitchen" so much we had dinner there every night during out three day stay. My wife is a vegetarian and this place has so much to offer her in the choices in the menu. Every night I tried something different, and wasn't disappointed in my decision. On the last night eating there, my daughter had come up from Washington DC to see us and she had been in Kathmandu Nepal in the fall of 2019, she found the place very authentic in their cuisine. I highly recommend "Kathmandu Kitchen"

Terrible expense

Ordered delivery, they brought the wrong food. Called to ask them to redeliver, they said they would, waited for another hour, no food. Called again, got fed some garbage about the food getting left at an address THAT DOESN’T EVEN EXIST ON MY STREET. Didn’t want to give me a refund, I was hungry so I agreed to wait another 20 minutes for a 3rd delivery attempt. Food arrived, and even though I had ordered it mild, it was so spicy I could barely eat it. The lamb was rubbery as well. -100 out of 10, would not recommend.

Worst Restaurant Experience of 2020

This was my worst restaurant experience in 2020. We called and spoke to someone to confirm an item was available. We placed our order at 5:56pm. The website estimate 45 minutes for delivery. By 7pm, I called the restaurant. No answer. By 7:15pm, I sent messages on Google and Facebook messenger. The Facebook message was viewed, but no response was given. I continued to call a total of 7 times over the next 40 minutes, no answer. So I drove to the restaurant, walked in, dialed the number again--sure enough, their phone rang, but it was ignored. When the order was finally delivered, it was incorrect--items missing (ironically, the exact item we'd confirmed was available). It is now 8pm, two hours after ordering and paying a tip for delivery, and I'm still sitting in the restaurant, in person, waiting for a corrected order while my food gets cold at home. Their consultation was a $20 gift. Absolutely terrible. Anyone want this gift card?

This is a fantastic place to get Indian Food. The Chicken Korma cannot be beaten. My wife had that last time and I had the Chicken Jalfrezi. Truly excellent. You have to try this place!

Kathmanu Kitchen is THE BEST PLACE for Indian food in Towson, MD! Try the Chicken Korma - It doesn't get any better than this!!!! Naan bread was great. Chicken Rogan Gosh is really good too. Oops, I forgot to order a Mango Lassi this time! I must do that next time because it's wonderful!

Kathmandu Kitchen is great! The food is delicious and the waiters and waitresses give very warm and friendly service. My kids love to go there. Buffet is more mildly spiced than we typically like, but has great variety. Enjoy!

Used to be my favorite Indian food, but has gone down hill significantly

My most recent view to Kathmandu Kitchen was my final visit. The quality had been going down slowly, but this time none of the food was good. The naan was raw inside; the samosas were flavorless, greasy, and not crispy; and even the chutney was watery and weak. The one thing I could always count on was the chicken tikka masala, but it's just average now--the chicken is overcooked and the flavor is one note. I won't go in or order delivery again.

Probably the worst Indian restaurant around.

Went there lunch buffet and the food was bad. They were using kontos pita bread instead of a fresh naan. The rice pudding was Lacey and when I complained, the lady just took it away without replacing it with any dessert. Disappointed and won't be back!!! Have tried a ala carte and this is still decent.

Reliable eatery in the heart of Towson

Visited recently with some friends on a Friday night. It wasn't terribly busy, though I am not sure why. The food is quite good - particularly enjoyed some of the Nepalese Chef;s specialties.. Enjoyed it quite well.

Solid Nepalese food

First, I would suggest skipping the generic Indian offerings on the menu and go to the specialties, because this is where you get the non-generic Nepalese food. This is the third time we've eaten here over the years, and it remains a good choice. This time I ordered the sekuwa, a very nicely spiced if chewy lamb dish with vegies and rice, quite good. My wife ordered the lamb momo, good dumplings. She also got the rice pudding, also good. Service was slow, and our server's English wasn't so good, but it was attentive enough when our server showed up and we were in no hurry.
