We had some lunch specials. Very good fresh chips and salsa. Small restaurant but nice. Food was good, fresh as well.

This is a very nice and cozy restaurant. I always get the fiesta enchiladas and if you do, too, I highly recommend the pork. It is simply put - excellent! There are always daily specials and the prices are affordable ( taco Tuesday are $2). Staff is friendly and love that this is contributing to the revitalization of the Independence... More
I visited this restaurant because I have heard rave reviews from some people who work nearby. The place is small, but I like the decor. The waiter was very nice and attentive. I ordered the street tacos hoping that they would taste like the taco tacos that I love to order when I visit restaurants on Southwest Blvd. in KC.... More
Decent food, but nothing really stood out and everything seemed bland. I wouldn't go there again unless it was my only other option. It's something cheap and for the family, really. Nothing worth going out of your way.
Folks, this restaurant serves good food. If you are on the plaza and thinking Mexican, why not? A bit pricey, but solid and fairly tasty. Some of the workers there are actually beautiful... so that adds to the ambiance. However. Queen Taco on 23rd street is better. Palominos on 24th Street ABSOLUTELY BLOWS El Pico, away... So, good to average,... More
It was a beautiful evening when I was walking on the Independence Square and I decided I needed a Margarita. El Pico was open and looked inviting so I went inside. I was greeted by a young, friendly waitress who agreed to sit me outside and let me sip an adult beverage while my kids were playing Pokemon go. She... More
My problem with this place is that the flavors are not outstanding. My fave is just their chips and salsa. Delicious! Be aware also that their serving size is small compared to their $$ prices.
I love that when you sit down at a Mexican restaraunt you can start eating chips and salsa right away. El Pico's chips were thin and salsa was delicious. There is one item highlight on their menu l, street tacos. My favorite was the pork. I'll be back.
The food and service at El Pico were just what was needed. After taking a mule pulled wagon ride around town, we were hungry and needed to grab a quick bite to eat before heading to our scheduled visit of President Truman's home. El Pico was nearby and different from the barbecue we been eating all week so we went... More
