After a scenic walk through lush bush including many of the notorious coffee trees I came to a cosy shelter nestled amongst a green mass. I subjected myself to the coffee that comes from the moongoose's 'caca' (as my waitress helpfully added while I was searching for the right word). The coffee came out shortly and looked like I was... We went to Eco Cafe 2 for dinner on our first night in Munduk and loved it so much we went back again for dinner another night and to Eco Cafe 1 for lunch after a hike. Their spring rolls with the peanut coffee sauce are incredible! The staff are wonderful, and we loved hearing about the student & farmer... More

Dear Gabrielle, It was really great time to have you at both of our cafes, Munduk Eco Café 1 and 2. We do appreciate either your kind attention to support us and your smart identification to distinguish the Munduk EcoCafé 1 with the green concept and the currently set up ecocafé that is not yet featured on TripAdvisor. Most our... More

Saw some reviews that we can reach Eco cafe 1 by walking towards Golden Valley waterfall, but it was actually quite confusing as the first cafe we stumbled across which is just next to the waterfall is just a FAKE ecocafe , I don't like the fact they try to imitate the name of the existing cafe and menu. The... More

Dear Soo C, I am so happy with your 'smart review' ! You had tried to find us eventhough it was not easy more over when some guys tried to tell you a lie. Munduk EcoCafé that was featured in an Australian Environmental Magazine called Slow Living IS NOT WITH WATERFALL VIEW, it is 200 m away North from the... More

We went to Golden Valley Waterfall and what a treat to stumble upon the Eco Cafe. A small unassuming "shack" overlooking the falls offered the best lunch and freshest juice we had of our trip! We had the fried rice and Lak Lak dessert with Bali chocolate along with Luwak coffee and fresh strawberry juice. The prices were phenomenal and... More

Because of the many signs we decided to go to the ecocafe. When we arrived the cafe was closed. So we took some pictures from the waterfall and on our way back up to the cafe it was open and we were really happy. We had a luwak coffe because the price was fair (30.000) and not so expensive like... More

Bit hard to find as there's another cafe called "Eco-friendly", but that's not Eco cafe, so make sure you're at the right place. Had lunch cooked by the students and so it took them a bit longer to sort everything out but we had a pleasant lunch with a beautiful view over the mountains. Finished it with some luwat coffee,... Ordered the Kopi Luak Robusta coffee and I have to admit it was the best cup of coffee I have had in 40 years of drinking coffee. Did not anticipate coffee beans from the civet cat and the brewing process would make that much difference. l was wrong. Also tried the Atomic Tea which featured cloves, cinnamon stick, lemongrass, ginger... More

Dear TS We are so happy to hear that you really enjoyed your coffee and tea at Munduk EcoCafé a farmers coop located in the coffee plantation and civets sanctuary. It was the best efforts of the farmers and students (from the economically far behind family) to take actions of sustainable coffee production and tourism concurently. Munduk EcoCafé is also... Nice place. The manager kept us informed about the Luwak project and how they rescue, nurture and release Luwaks back into nature, lovely concept. The food was very good, freshly prepared and healthy. It is a quiet place and perfect after a day of hiking.

Dear Rebecca C...... One of our missions is to reveal the phenomena of how civet coffee are massively produced through caged, mistreated and tortured animals. If no one cares the animals will extinct very soon. The quality of the coffee produced that way is also recognized as much more inferior compared to the natural proccess by wild/free range animals. We... More

More out of a coincidence we found the Ecocafe near beautiful Golden Valley Waterfall! The place is very beautiful, in the middle of nature and the food was delicious. But apart from this great location and food the true highlight is the guy who runs the place and his life's work: high quality Copi Luwak coffee made by a community... More

Description
Munduk Eco Café "THE THATCH ROOFED-WARUNG and COFFEE SHOP in the Tutub Coffee Plantation and Civets Sanctuary is OPEN DAILY (9.30 AM - 5 PM)for lunch, afternoon tea or coffee or just trying our fresh fruits juice with various authentic Balinese "snacks". Since we are no longer located near the Golden Valley waterfall, we DO NOT "use" the name of Golden Valley Coffee Shop any more. Eco Café the Farmers Co-op is the fundamentally restored Golden Valley Coffee Shop!! We are 1 km away East from the feamous Munduk Waterfall, and 400 mtr away North of the Golden Valley waterfall. Now we are accessable by scooter, it takes only 10 minutes from Munduk waterfall.
