To dine in Grand Hotel, which is a relic of the past, is an experience. Magnolia is an economical option, and an added plus is that it's open till late, while other restaurants in Nuwara Eliya are closed by 9ish. Food was decent, decor is wooden, very British. Service was great.

I didn't like their food. Recommend to change the menu since it has not many options and the taste of the food was not that much good.

We ordered Sri Lankan food and was very pleased with the spicy, tasty meal. The desserts were also very good. Service was courteous and nice and the dining room was lovely. Prices are high, but it is worth it.

We were the only "browns" today in a room full of "white" guests. It was disappointing to see how preferential the wait staff was. 5 of them, hovering around the other tables, serving them or simply chatting. We didn't even get a bread basket served! I'm guessing the foreigners tip the wait staff more than locals do, but such a... More

LOCATION: The restaurant is located within the Grand Hotel. VENUE: The overall size of the restaurant is small. Seating is adequate and you are able to view the chef's preparing the dishes in the kitchen. Furniture and decor was in good shape and had an antique or Victorian feel to it. SERVICE: Service was a little slow, but otherwise satisfactory.... More

After almost 3 weeks in Sri Lanka we were ready for a more western dinner. We had a very nice dinner at Magnolia. My husband had rack of lamb and I had beef filet. They had good flavor and were large servings but were not quite as tender as expected. The fresh vegetables served on the side were amazing. We... More

This is difficult to review as we found the lunch menu to be good and the service acceptable. However for a hotel of this standard the staff should be very well trained and turned out and this was not really the case with some staff standing about chatting among themselves. The main disappointment was the lack of a traditional English... More

Had nasigoreng and chicken buriyani.both were delicious. That atmosphere was super. Pin drop silence with a very very light music. The arrangement of restaurant calms down our minds.
