When you look at this place from outside you wouldn't give it a dime. However once you sit down and the friendly staff helps you through the all vegetarian Indian menu which is written on a big board things start to change. And once the food is there and you have your cup of tea (with lots of milk and... More

In this restaurant there were only locals so we decided to try it out. The food was good, pretty spicy but still good. Everybody ate with their hands though, so it didn't feel so hygenic. We only got spoons so we also had to eat with our hands. The environment overall was also quite dirty.. A bit too local to... More

We had the masala dosa and ghee masala, both of which were excellent and served very quickly! The restaurant is quite local, nothing fancy, but the food was fantastic (and cheap). Staff were also friendly. Would recommend as a good place to eat in the main part of town.

We loved the food at Sri Ambaal. It's typical vegetarian Sri Lankan food. Nothing fancy but really worth it if you want a real experience. It's also really cheap and the staff is very friendly and happily welcomes foreigners.

This is typical Srilankan vegetarian restaurant {commonly known as Thosse Kade among the locals} The atmosphere is not great, and it is crowded, looks okay with hygienic. This is a fully vegetarian place and the staff were very kind. We two had two meals here, it was fresh and tastier, the price was dead cheap comparing other restaurants in this... More

We had masala dosai and a tea (very sweet and with milk - like the locals drink it) in here, it was really great! If you like your can add a more spicy sauce as well. Nice and friendly staff. The food is eaten with your bare hands, so maybe that's something not everybody likes (but surely they also have... More
