I have traveled for the past 10 years with a group of friends eating BBQ. When we come to a city, we generally try to hit the marquee BBQ joints where the locals eat or that have been featured on The Travel Channel. McClard's is one of those places that has been around producing BBQ the same way since the... More

Half tamale spread is enough for most. Layers of flavor. Get the onions and cheese on top. Iconic local restaurant since the 1940s. Crowded at lunch go early. Lunch bar is quicker than a booth.

This restaurant is small and quaint -- filled with locals and tourists alike. Our waitress was a pro and the service was excellent and very fast. The food was unusual and had huge portions. I got a half order of the Tamle Spread and only got through about 1/3 of it and was stuffed. The food is very good.

When you ask the locals about the must-sees and must-eats of Hot Springs, inevitably someone will say "You HAVE to eat at McClard's. They have world famous BBQ!" I cannot for the life of me figure out why. The only thing truly enjoyable about this place are the celebrity plaques on the wall. It certainly has history. But it also... More

My ribs were overcooked and stringy-these are BIG ribs-not babybacks, By the way. Hubby got the beef....this is NOT Brisket like ALL the rest of the BBQ places-just like Grandmas pot roast sliced-dry. Beans were good but spicy....the BBQ sauce was VERY spicy (and we are from Cajun country-home of some of the best food in the USA) The tamale... More

Well on a recent trip thru Arkansas for family reasons I stopped at McClards's BBQ. Haven't been there for a few yes. Ordered my favorite ribs and fries, fries were under cooked and ribs were lukewarm at best. They no longer include a piece of bread to go with meal. Food still good just not great.

The atmosphere is friendly at McClard's Bar-B-Q. The air is filled with the smell of the food and the smell wafts to the outside. There are pictures of past patrons including at least two pictures of Bill Clinton. The food is served up hot. The tasty Bar-B-Q items are good to enjoy. People have been coming to McClard's for years... More

Grew up near McClards so I've eaten there for 60+ years. Went on Wednesday when they serve delicious chicken--for the spouse. Wanted to try the "new" links. However, I was disappointed: too much like bologna -- would have preferred a denser, smoked brat or kielbasa style. Several locally-grown options available. Cornmush tamales (single) are filling. Slaw some of the best... More

We stopped in to have lunch one day while visiting Hot Springs. I've been to a lot of BBQ places and this is not my favorite. The service was good but the chopped BBQ sandwich took the word chopped to a new level, more like minced. The slaw was cut the same way. I did not enjoy the slaw by... More
