Restaurant recommended by hotel. The waitress could not have been any better. Extremely pleasant and attentive. I had a salad for dinner which was delicious. My husband and kids got other items and no food was left behind. Very reasonably priced.

Popped in here after a long day’s drive because it was near our hotel and had beer. Not in the least disappointed! I had the Southwest salad with cactus dressing (added grilled chicken) and a draft of their Ted Ale. Perfect after a long day.

Not worth time or $. We had 3 days in Cortez and had tried a couple of other places with no complaints and thought we will try this place… go somewhere else. Service was great, seated right away. We ordered amber ale pitcher, figured it’s...a micro brewery has to be good right? WRONG, it was flat and tasteless, we did not say anything and should have so that’s on us . Ordered wings and I got spinach dip and chips, wings were eh ok, dip not to bad , chips um not so good… anyhow service as stated was great and no we didn’t say anything about the beer probably should have but the food as well wasn’t good. They advertise Prime Rib dinner tonight and was told it was almost done and they were checking the temperature, so we had our drinks and a appetizer. Ordered 12 oz cut medium with baked potato and Brussel sprouts. When it came it almost looked like...someone cut a piece of meat with a dull knife. It was not a slice as you normally get. It was not oven roasted but was grilled. I asked the waitress why was it grilled? She told me oh sorry that the way we do it here and sorry I didn't mention that to you. Well, we decide to try with an open mind. Immediately I found out that it didn't even taste like any Prime Rib I have ever had. I think it was because it tuff and lot of grizzle. Not flavorful with fat you can enjoy with tender meat. This was like a cowboy steak. Tuff with no flavor but for sure not Prime Rib at all. The baked potato was hard in the middle and even the Brussel sprouts were also hard in the middle. Service was good but this was the last time I will ever do this again.More

This food was so fresh and good!! Hard to believe it’s rating isn’t higher!! The sweet potato fries were to die for and the ribs and brisket were divine!!! We are really particular about our restaurants and this one was clean, with friendly service and...excellent food!! We will be back!More

Cortez Colorado must be quite a place when a restaurant like J. Fargo's is thirteenth in the ratings! We arrived around 8PM on a recent Friday night and had two superb burgers. Service was good, the "nutty brown" ale was good, and the peach cobbler...was great (not syrupy sweet). I can recommend wholeheartedly.More

My wife and I went here for an early dinner today. The meal was Amber Ale, white cheddar poblano soup, ribs, chicken fried steak, and cheesecake wrap for dessert. We took the dessert back to our room. It’s cheesecake wrapped in a tortilla, fried to...golden brown, rolled in sugar and cinnamon, topped off with a raspberry drizzle and served with vanilla ice cream. Everything was very good. My wife had the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes and I had the ribs with a South Carolina sauce. Our waitress was very friendly and most accommodating. She made sure we were happy with our meal and experience. Today - that means something.More

My wife and I had an early dinner here. We ordered the special, prime rib with vegetables and mashed potatoes. The meat was as tough as an old boot, the vegetables amounted to a tiny portion, enough to be a garnish, but the potatoes were...okay. I ordered an IPA beer. It came in a plastic cup. The waitress explained it was because it was happy hour. The draft beer was sour and stale. I returned it. My wife ordered a Merlot and it tasted like the bottle had been open for a long time. A very disappointing experience.More

Unlike some of the other reviews we had no problems with service. We were seated quickly, order taken, and food delivered as expected. I had a brisket sandwich and my wife had a avacoda salad - both were excellent.

Despite a sign at the front that was a little offensive to those who take Covid seriously, everyone and everything was wonderful! The staff was welcoming, the food was great, and the service was awesome!

We are somewhat of beer snobs and the beer here was unpalatable. We ended up drinking a Guinness instead. We did not order any food.

It needs to be mentioned that this restaurant, like so many others during our trip, were experiencing a staff shortage. So I understand that never aspect of our dining experience was going to be perfect. That aside it did take us over 45 mins to...be seated. Then there was an extended wait on about every part of our meal. However, the food was good, the staff stayed upbeat, and the service was great. They offered a wide range of items on their menu so there's certainly something that everyone will eat. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.More
