This was my first time at Luigi’s, and the weather outside was downright frightful with sub-zero temps. I thought a plate of lasagna would do the trick. The dish was unspectacular, but not disappointing. Next time I will try the pizza. That’s what everyone else seemed to be ordering. I was impressed by my dessert, however, a lemon-flavored cake. The... More

Herb roasted mushrooms are firm (not watery) savory additions to specialty pizzas and those you decide on your own toppings. Meats -- sausage, pepperoni, etc. --are flavorful and hearty. The goat cheese gave fresh dairy tang to our veggie pie. Nice staff, but service stumbled a few times. Ordered toppings weren't on pizza. Coffee, ordered on cold evening, was served... More

Of all the specialty pizza places in Madison, I think Luigi's has to be my favorite. They score points for having a good menu, including their infamous dough knots. However, what really puts Luigi's over the top is their casual atmosphere and sense of humor. The pizza's are all named after stereotypical Italian phrases (e.g. "Bada Bing" and "Fugetaboutit"), and... More

Friendly, neighborhood restaurant that does a wonderful job with their pizza. Thin crust, excellent ingredients and always prepared well. There are many fine pizza restaurants in the Madison area and Luigi's can stand tall with most of them. If you are on the West side. Take the time to visit and enjoy. There is a Chocolate Shoppe right next door... More

Walked in at 6:30 on a Friday night and lucked into a table within 10 minutes. The place is not very big. Pleasant server. Maybe the best cheese garlic bread ever. At our table the lasagne was very good, the tortellini was quite good, and the thin crust pizza was excellent. Nice selection of beers on tap. A real asset... More

Let me start off with saying I love trying all different kinds of pizza. I hadn't been to Luigi's before so was anxious to give it a go. The atmosphere is very quaint and decorated with classic red checkered tablecloths, wine corks, wine crates with small tables and dark booths for seating. My husband and I tried the 12" Madtown... We really enjoyed the pizza at Luigis. We asked our waiter for recommendations and he suggested the Fugetaboutit and The Racket. We bought both and really liked both of them! It was also nice to sit out on the small patio area on a nice Madison evening.

The pizza is average and the bread is good. For nearly $50 you would expect much better pizza. There is truly more taste that comes from a take and bake pizza restaurant, such as Papa Murphys. Maybe my expectations were too high as this pizza was nothing to recommend to others.

After last visiting Luigi's a couple years ago, we went back again on Saturday night. Place was crowded once again at about 6:30 -- had to wait about 15 minutes. Unlike our last visit, the pizza arrived very quickly. Lots of choices on the menu but we "made our own". It was very good. We will be returning.

First I have to say that Luigi's pizza was FANTASTIC -- I ordered the racket and it was WOW! The friend I was with told me how good the tiramisu was and so I tried it although it is not something I usually like and again -- WOW! And then we were told to leave. Unbeknownst to us a party... More
