Every time I come to Madison I try to eat at the Rising Sons Deli. I am Vegan and Iknow" Forlks Over Knifes" nutrition . Their soups are amazing! You can ask them to make them to your liking.Fresh, healthy ingredients. I'm so glad I got to experience this great food.

The restaurant atmosphere is a bit tacky but the outdoor seating is great in the summer. The food is great, spicy, a bit oily, but with enough rice I think it balances out well. I've gotten all the curries and LOVED them all. They only take cash. Family business and nice service.

We ate Valentine's Day dinner at the Rising Sons Restaurant on Old Sauk Road. What a delightful restaurant! The service, food, and value were extraordinary. The spring rolls were fresh and tasty. The Tom Ka Gai (coconut chicken soup) soup was the best I have had. Also, they sent me home with a long-stemmed rose to celebrate Valentine's Day. Total... More

The restaurant affiliated with the deli and by the same name is on the west side. The newspaper said they opened in Feb and yet they havent listed themselves on isthmus or this website. They charge dinner prices for lunch on weekends. During the week, I got a lunch special. No brown rice available. Appetizer skewer of chicken was the... More

I stopped here for lunch with my family and was impressed. I had the Curry Squash and found it to be delicious. As good or better was my son's meal which was some mix of fish, egg, and more wrapped in a banana leaf. The flavors were terrific - a blend that I never would have thought of including some... More

While there are certainly some mediocre Thai restaurants around, there are very few that are genuinely bad. Sadly, the Rising Sons Deli is one of them. We ordered two appetizers and three entrees to share. The appetizers were okay, but the entrees were quite disappointing. The Pad Se Eui lacked dark soy and any notes of sweetness. It was simply... A very authentic Asian/Thai restaurant located in the hearty of the UW-Madison campus - on legendary State Street. Nice local, low key interior supplements the very well-prepared and well-presented food. Everything we ordered was delicious down to the last morsel.

My wife and I went here for dinner last night. We saw this new place in Middleton and grabbed a menu and it is a new place from the State Street place. So we thought we would try it. Wife had squash curry. I had the Lao sausage and Somtom. Squash curry was really salty, but noticed that it looked... More

We arrived at Rising Sun Deli around 12:30 on a weekday. A waitress greeted us a we walked in and told us to take a seat wherever we liked. We sat near the door. I would not recommend this on a cold Wisconsin day. Every time a customer came in or out a cold wind came with them. We started... More
