Service here was a little slow, but what they lacked in speed, they made up for with delicious food. With a large group of 12, we were able to sample several specialties. We had the frittata de jour which was light and fluffy and perfect. We also tried the Le Toaste. VERY thick slabs of french toast. Several of us... More

Met some of our friends in Madison at the Weary Traveler in October. Steak sandwich was very good, and the goulash my wife had was good, though not what we were expecting. Excellent service as well.

Our friend was told to check this place out. Kind of off the beaten track but worth the stop. I had the pastrami Reuben which was awesome. They make these gigantic pieces of homemade bread and the pastrami was so good. and my friends had the bobs bad breathe burger. Both said it was delicious. Very reasonable prices and a... More

Stopped in for a late lunch. Food all round the table was deemed "just okay". Nothing stellar. The service also was "just okay", with a not very attentive waitress. And what were those little flakes floating in the water? Not very appetizing. I don't think we'll be back. There are many better places to eat.

August 15, 2016 We love to end the evening 'at the bar' chatting with the locals over a delicious rye or bourbon and something sweet and decadent. Luckily, we heard about The Weary Traveler from a bartender of another place we loved. It was late, but we were treated like old friends. The bartender was very knowledgeable (I wish I... More

The first two visits here were excellent! Great burger, nice beer selection, bustling vibe. So took my family here on a quiet afternoon and couldn't believe it was the same restaurant. The four of us each had different meals and the various breads/rolls our sandwiches were on were all dried out and stale. The meat on the reuben sandwich was... More

After striking out on my intended destination, then executing plan "B" that failed too so on to plane "C". I'm so please that I was made to have plane c tonight. I had a cup of the goulash and holy cow that was absolutely delicious and a must try when you visit. My entree was the cilantro corn salad with... More

Not an extensive menu but plenty to choose from. One person was a vegan and got the chili, said it was good. One had the Reuben and said it had pastrami rather than corned beef and thought it was too spicy for him, 3 had the salads, 1 with flank steak, 1 with tenderloin, both happy but the one who... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants on the East side of Madison. These guys never disappoint. Try the Bob's bad breath burger or many of the vegetarian options. The sampler plate is excellent
